Over 1 million active-duty military members and contractors may not receive their October 15 paychecks if Congress does not pass legislation.
Essential federal employees, including military personnel and ICE agents, must continue to work without pay during the shutdown.
While workers are entitled to back pay after the shutdown ends, President Trump has suggested some furloughed employees may not "deserve" it.

think it's mostly healthcare, files can be released eventually but democrats will probably cave at least a little unless organized labor intervenes first like last big shutdown

What if the Gov just stays shut down? They blame the Dems, as they do. Then declare their new interim (aka permanent) government (aka dictatorship)

They got to pay the right people to maintain power, so if they can figure that out ( doubt ) then maybe. If they don't reboot it within a month things could get very weird.
