Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

They are so, so close. Just keep pulling at that thread, maga...

[–] Dragomus@lemmy.world 3 points 3 hours ago

The pardon is already signed and tucked away in a drawer in the White House somewhere...

Her attempt at the SC (possibly suggested by a 3rd party) was more a redirection, now it gives Trump the chance to shine as a benevolent leader (like he thinks he is) while also making clear to the SC he'll overrule them when he sees fit...

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 36 points 12 hours ago (3 children)

"I will speak to the DOJ," he added. "I wouldn't consider it or not consider it."

This man (and I use the term very loosely) has no clue what the fuck words mean 🤦

[–] fox2263@lemmy.world 11 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

Sadly I think it’s for plausible deniability.

[–] LemmyKnowsBest@lemmy.world 8 points 9 hours ago

Coming from any intelligent manipulative person, sure perhaps. But coming from someone who primarily speaks word salad?

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 9 hours ago

More like plausible dementia disability, amirite? Up top! 🤚

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 13 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Listen to the full quote, it’s clear that he’s just bullshitting/vamping because he genuinely doesn’t remember anything about the topic he’s being asked about. He forgot who she is. This is also a massive cause for concern, obviously.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 12 hours ago

Listen to the full quote

No thanks, I already get exposed to plenty of his ramblings in text. I draw the line at actively looking to listen to him.

it’s clear that he’s just bullshitting/vamping

I'm pretty sure that's 99% of what he ever says when Stephen Miller hasn't written a tirade for him.

he genuinely doesn’t remember anything about the topic he’s being asked about. He forgot who she is. This is also a massive cause for concern, obviously.

Yup. In a sane world, he'd be in an assisted living facility, not the dictator of the richest and most powerful country in the history of the planet.

[–] crystalmerchant@lemmy.world 3 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Well, it depends what your meaning of the word is, is.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 9 hours ago

Is = oral sex

[–] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 28 points 15 hours ago (3 children)

Is he so senile he doesn’t remember her, in which case remove him from office, or is h he really going to look into pardoning one of the biggest child traffickers ever, in which case remove him from office.

[–] Guitarfun@lemmy.world 12 points 14 hours ago

He's going to wait to see if she'll pay the fee to be pardoned like the rest of the pardons he sold.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 8 points 14 hours ago

They're old friends

[–] Tronn4@lemmy.world 4 points 14 hours ago

The second part

[–] LadyMeow@lemmy.blahaj.zone 124 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Wait, as in a presidential pardon for a prolific underage sex trafficer, despite a Supreme Court ruling? Lmao.

Clown country. What does Faux News say? Lol

[–] alquicksilver@lemmy.world 40 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

They'll defend the pedophiles and billionaires*, as usual.

*Whoops, sorry for what seems like redundancy more and more.

[–] Zombiepirate@lemmy.world 11 points 15 hours ago

100,000% this.

It's what they were made to do: entrench the privilege of the wealthy via propaganda.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 31 points 17 hours ago

CNN's Kaitlan Collins asked Trump about the possibility of a pardon for Maxwell at an Oval Office event on Monday.
"I haven't heard the name in so long," the president responded. "I can say this, that I'd have to take a look at it. I would have to take a look."

Who is that? I barely even remember who that is.

jfc how has this horror show of a human being courted votes?

[–] Ging@anarchist.nexus 35 points 18 hours ago (5 children)

What is he actually waiting for though?🤔

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 21 points 18 hours ago

There's probably one or two killjoys who want him to wait for the most opportune time as opposed to just doing it because he's a guilty child rapist.

[–] salacious_coaster@infosec.pub 19 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Waiting for the various propaganda networks to warm the populace up for the idea first.

[–] zd9@lemmy.world 13 points 17 hours ago

This is absolutely the reason. They need to make sure a coordinated narrative is beamed out to their cult propagandists so they can somehow blame it on the DemonRATS.

[–] RestrictedAccount@lemmy.world 3 points 12 hours ago

Once she is pardoned, she loses her 5th Amendment right not to testify against herself

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 7 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

He's waiting for someone else to fix the situation for him, his brain is soup

[–] Ging@anarchist.nexus 3 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

If I wait long enough, maybe the problem will solve itself(Trump probably)

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 2 points 15 hours ago

This is not a stable system... You can't burn the world forever

[–] Vorticity@lemmy.world 5 points 15 hours ago

I'm going with he's waiting for the midterms to be over.

[–] fluffykittycat@slrpnk.net 12 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

The thing about a pardon is that you can be forced to testify afterwards because the information cannot be used to incriminate you so the Fifth Amendment doesn't apply anymore

[–] MithranArkanere@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago

Unfortunately truth serum isn't really a thing, and perjury is still hard to prove.

[–] BigMacHole@sopuli.xyz 15 points 16 hours ago

We MUST Protect CHILD RAPISTS!

-LITERALLY Republicans!

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 25 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

He told SCOTUS not to take the case because he wanted the leverage over her.

[–] nymnympseudonym@lemmy.world 6 points 17 hours ago

Underrated comment

[–] PKscope@lemmy.world 32 points 18 hours ago (2 children)

"I'm shocked. Just shocked," he said cynically.

Does there exist a red-line which MAGA cultists, conservatives, moderates, and all the flavors of the left can agree upon? My brain says no, but my heart says maybe this could be it.

I sincerely don't see how anyone could defend this. I'm sure they'll try, though.

[–] TexasDrunk@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago

They're already excusing it saying it's so that she can't plead the fifth when she gets subpoenaed for cases against people she trafficked for.

[–] Corporal_Punishment@feddit.uk 6 points 10 hours ago

The red line should have been Trump admitting on tape to being a sex offender.

All this shows is that the cultists have literally zero morals

[–] shittydwarf@piefed.social 23 points 17 hours ago (1 children)
[–] deegeese@sopuli.xyz 31 points 17 hours ago

Trump would never sacrifice himself in any way for anyone.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 18 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Inb4 Maxwell gets the presidential medal of freedom.

[–] Tylerdurdon@lemmy.world 14 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Nah, she'll go home and shoot herself in the head 3 times with a type written suicide note next to her body professing the orange moron's innocence.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 9 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

All while backing over a 10th story pent house balcony railing

[–] moshankey@lemmy.world 8 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Ooooo. Going all Russian here. Gravity poisoning.

Dude fucking LOVES pedophiles and human traffickers. It’s like, weird how much this guy is into it.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 5 points 14 hours ago

I'm sick and tired of this administration's rampant and bizarre "soft on child sex offender" agenda

[–] Fandangalo@lemmy.world 8 points 16 hours ago

Whyyyyy?

Seriously, this behavior only makes sense as someone with blackmail. Why not just, I dunno, ignore it? Why bring chance of the pardon back into potential? Why remind people of the Epstein files?

I’m glad in some sense that he’s exposing his vulnerabilities in broad daylight. Seems like a really dull minded decision on his part.

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 4 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

There will be riots if these scumbag molesters pardon her.

[–] BanMe@lemmy.world 7 points 14 hours ago

Like when he raised an armed insurrection and everyone went about their Tuesdays like normal?

[–] monkeyslikebananas2@lemmy.world 3 points 14 hours ago

Will there? #doubt

[–] Yawweee877h444@lemmy.world 7 points 17 hours ago
