One reason this has more impact than it seems like it should is the flotilla was comprised of citizens of other nations.

It's human nature to care more about you and yours than someone else, even if you do also care about someone else, and this triggers that feeling, where Israelis committing genocide against Palestinians do not.

I just hope something comes of it.

Something has already come from it. That something doesn't have to be the end of Zionism though to make it meaningful.

The totality of all action will be what brings about Zionisms death. From the single protest with 50 people you went to. From the BDS movement. From the blockade from Yemin. From the flotillas. From the small win against Microsoft recently. From all of it, and more, Zionism will end one day.

Do not feel disheartened by not meeting the end goal or even making noticable progress for each individual action. Feel inspired by the acts of defiance to also take action in what ever way you are capable of.

2 years ago demanding Palestinians to have equal rights was considered demanding genocide. I was practically alone in being pro-Palestinian, in my region, before 2022, now hundreds of thousands march for palestine each day.

Can I ask what country your from?

When I went out to Seattle to protest this weekend we were a bit bigger than the last time. It's still a almost depressing number of people for a supposedly "leftist" city. But I look at Italy and the numbers in the global south and try to remember I'm not alone. I'm just far away. The vast majority of the world stands with Palestine. It's just been so disheartening to live in the brain rot of the imperial core. My normie friends tell me "like, no one even hears or talks about this stuff".

I just have to remind myself that I am the sane one in a truly sick society. The numbers of the world are massively on my side. Even if I can't speak their language or give them a hug.

the way I see it, yes but this is worth paying attention to is that this seems to be an escalation. Greta is white and privileged, sure, but she is those things and she is famous. Like anything that happens to her will garner mainstream attention. And if something if they do really bad to her (like kill or SA her) it will put a huge negative spotlight on them in a way I dont think they realize. Like Charlie Kirk was a racist dickhead with tiny face memes for years but my dad didnt ask me who he was until like 2 weeks ago.

the world is full of people so self absorbed (with and without justification) that if it takes a priviledged white girl getting beaten to get attention, so be it

Greta knows this and is exactly the reason she is doing it... putting her own well being at risk for this cause... I suspect the biggest risk you'd take is falling from that high horse

There has been a constant stream of dehumanization and fearmongering about muslims and arab people in every corner of the world (sans latin america) since 2001 and even before if we count the chechen wars (all of a fallout of the us destruction of the Afghan communists and the rise of saudi arabia)

Without it no genocide would have been possible. So white people getting attacked (especially if they aren’t considered crazy commies like pro-palestinian westerners before 2022) is shocking.

these are inextricable characteristics of a society that grew to believe that "after what they did to us, we can do anything". even becoming the monsters that once maimed them. and just as it once happened to others, they might need a shock to snap back to fear of retribution, i'm not even mentioning human decency.

Why "little Greta" she is a grown woman of 22 years. I don't understand what this infantilization of her is supposed to achieve.

Having said that it's definatelly a warning to others that thy don't care how famous you are, you better bring firing power, because just counting on other peoples outrage doesn't work anymore.

If there's to be peace, then it will be imposed from outside, much as the Zionist ethno-colony was imposed.

According to Miko Peled and the like, there are enough people of good will on both sides to make a go of a unitary, multi-ethnic democratic state, in which all are equal.

Agreed! There’s no way Israel will change as a result of internal pressure! There isn’t any! A goodly majority of Israelis agree with the genocide!

Given that Israel (with US & UK involvement I’m sure) appears to be very close to initiating a second attack on Iran, this could be the moment that the external impetus for radical change in Israel occurs!

Frankly it’s Zionism that needs to be totally eradicated - much like the much-touted but seemingly half-hearted German denazification after WWII! Imo only then will it be possible to create that single democratic entity that Peled, Pappé & others describe!

Either that or watch most of them die and be in that situation regardless. At least with a distribution, they can keep their culture alive through it's citizens. It's almost a no win situation, you either force Iseral to accept the state by invasion, or get them out.

Not defending Iseral at all, just trying to save lives at this point. Watching millions get backed into a corner and slaughtered is terrible. No one nation or league of nations isn't doing anything about it. Maybe with some united force it could bring pressure in some fashion.

The Euroanglo-zionazi Entity wouldn't stop at Palestine, you understand this, yes? "Greater Israel", does that ring a bell at all? This idea of "just move Arabs to Arab country X, Y and Z" is a Zionazi rhetoric intended to drive Palestinians who rightfully own their land out, no matter how you cut it.

Understanding that the Euroanglo-zionazi Entity is a settler-colony and outpost granted by the British, occupied by various Europeans and now spearheaded by another settler-colony, the US, will help reveal the "solution".

The US can make a single fucking phone call to the Zionazi "government" to at the very least stop the current genocide. European states can recall their citizens colonizing Indigenous land. With that in mind, the only way forward is through continued mounting of pressure on these states that are colonizing Palestine via organization, which we are seeing a glimpse of with the Global Sumud Flotilla, BDS and other important initiatives.
