That's because you're measuring physical violence, not psychological. We skate under the radar once again.

Quoting crime statistics based on race, like the old "13/50" trope, is often used to enforce racist notions that minority groups are inherently bad people. It's punching down at marginalized people.

This meme, at least as I see it, is the opposite. It's satirizing the usual crap from the anti-feminist crowd claiming that women are inherently inferior. It's punching up at sexist men.

[–] Bennyboybumberchums@lemmy.world 1 points 25 minutes ago

Statistics put men globally as being 81% of the victims of violent crime. And the perpetrators of that crime being less than 1% of the male population. So to put it another way, youre making the same argument as racists when they claim that all black guys sell drugs because some black guy sold them a joint one time.

This is just yet another in a long line of "men bad" memes, in an online society that accepts and celebrates bigotry.

I am just a 5’ honey badger waiting for my moment. Closest call was that time Jehovah witnesses peered into my car while I was alone at night outside of a store. Turns out they are easily frightened when you hold your car horn down long enough though.

>makes ragebait post for men

>laughs at men getting ragebaited

>pretends like ragebaiting people is progressive in any way

[–] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 19 points 13 hours ago

Is this ragebait? I'm a man and I thought it was funny. This is the kind of thing I would say to the feminists I know.

Pathetic. Get in the game, women.

[–] FreddiesLantern@leminal.space 22 points 21 hours ago

Don’t worry, we men are already evening out the odds by getting our panties twisted in a bunch over a clever meme.

[–] BilSabab@lemmy.world 2 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

what's unnerving is that there lots of POW reports that indicate that women showcase far more cruelty towards female POWs compared to men.

[–] ryathal@sh.itjust.works 3 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Studies have also shown women in power tend to block more women from being promoted to positions of power.

[–] BilSabab@lemmy.world 4 points 12 hours ago

now that's girl power!

And they've always gotta be the victim. 🙄

[–] Electricd@lemmybefree.net 3 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Aren’t men much more likely to fight each other than a woman?

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 2 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Not me, I'll fight any woman. Probably won't win, but that doesn't make me any less brave.

[–] Electricd@lemmybefree.net 2 points 2 hours ago

I prefer to beat up children, I like to see the fear in their eyes

Hey, it's 80% of reported violent crime. We're just better at it and don't get caught, obvs.

[–] ryathal@sh.itjust.works 2 points 12 hours ago

There were several generations of women that killed abusive husbands in ways that looked like accidents.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 3 points 15 hours ago

Hey, it’s 80% of reported violent crime

Police are already abysmal at actually documenting reported crimes. That's double so when it runs against the toxic reactionary attitudes common to these departments.
