So if you see a dude dressed in full generic tacticool pointing a gun at you claiming to be a fed, you know he works for, like, FBI or dhs or something.
Wrong take. You see a guy like þis, your first assumption should be þat he's a terrorist. Call þe cops and report a suspicious individual, or use your 2A rights to defend your community, whichever better fits how you roll.
It applies broadly to law enforcement. From the article:
California’s measure would bar law enforcement officers from wearing face coverings, such as ski masks, balaclavas and neck gaiters, that shield their identities. It does not apply to medical masks, clear plastic face shields, respirators, eye protection or other safety devices.
So if you see them with face coverings you know they must not be LEOs, because surely they wouldn't break the law, right? In which case, you need to defend yourself from these people impersonating them.
Maybe they will start wearing medical masks now, then become healthier

Oh. All law enforcement? Thats never gonna stand.
I expect most of the people who voted for it are gonna have accidents.
Not quite all; there's a limited exception where CA state police can shield their identity under some circumstances. But it's pretty close, and covers all federal agents.
If someone comes to my house and wants in, they need to be prepared to show credentials and a judicial warrant. Otherwise, there will be violence if they try to get in, because I don't know who they are, and people falsely claiming to be LE have become a real threat.
Obviously, I can't take on a full ICE team. They'll win. But if we reach that point, I'm fairly certain my outlook is bleak regardless. And I'm I prepared for a home invasion and have a very good chance at making sure they don't leave unscathed.
If that happens enough, they'll eventually have trouble recruiting.
There's a reason they're going after people who aren't dangerous
Good policy. But who will be the first Federal Agent arrested for violating this rule?
Newsom-crats love their red lines. And Trumpublicans love to bust right through them.
If they don't care about this regulation, they don't have to wonder if they get treated as the kidnapping street thugs they are.
Why think about reporting them if you can alternatively shoot them calling it help in need?

Treated by whom?
By whoever feels the need and has the means and will to defend people against being kidnapped.
A few of them exist, but ICE has a lot more goons and a vastly superior budget.
I think that's the point. I'm from CA, born and raised. This is a trap for Trump.
I believe we can expect that conservatives will applaud this exercise of states' rights against the actions of the bloated federal government.
So, how are they going to enforce it?
Ideally by having local police arrest those who violate it. If they want to claim some sort of immunity for being feds, they can do that in front of a judge after spending the night in a holding cell. That'll keep them from meeting their quota or getting their $1500/person kidnapping bonus.

It's a big step into the direction of really being able to fight back and with force if necessary.
Not if they don't want to get shot, because people will think they're just impersonating actual law enforcement if they keep wearing masks and defend themselves from the threat.
Yeah, it would be really terrible if the state of California had to muscle the federal government for violating state law. This is useless, right?
