“We’re very happy to have announced the additional 200,000 unit capacity, in total $2.7 billion of additional investment which is going to give more confidence to the State of Georgia and our partners while all this visa and immigration issues get resolved immediately.”

I thought they had already learned the hard way, this blows my mind. What are the chances that the South Korean government forced their hand instead of Hyundai making the decision here to back out?

I mean, I don't find it that hard to believe that a multi-billion dollar for profit automaker wasn't actually that upset about their workers being manhandled and is willing to pay protection money to an authoritarian stooge. Idk about Hyundai specifically, but companies like them used sweatshops in countries under dictatorships before and did business in pretty much this same way.

Exactly. All they had to do was make the correct noises to appease the people back home and then it's right back to business.

Another corporation bends over to recieve Trump's tiny mushroom dick.

People ask how the Nazis happened. This is how. No one stood up to stop them.
