Like, surely statements like this are just meant to set conservatives up to point at the open pro-Israel lobby in the US, the obvious corruption via AIPAC and Netanyahu holding press events in the US etc, because I don't think the kind of person who believes Qatar secretly pays American rightwingers to be anti-Israel actually exists
Or they're panicking about a possible takeover of the GOP by the anti-Israeli nazi faction currently exploiting this and pushing conspiracy theories to make the dominant Christian-zionist faction as unpopular as possible. Some people on the anti-Zionist kinda-left like Blumenthal and Galloway are also pushing this theory to the point of saying bizarre shit like Kirk being "presidential", a possible future successor to Trump etc. It's ends justify the means opportunism.
I guess so, looking in from the outside it just seems like addressing things like this is actively counterproductive to dispelling the conspiracy theory haha
GOP nazi infighting over conspiracy theories instead of focusing against trans people like the Christian faction initially wanted is epic and should not be messed with. At the same time though a possible takeover of the GOP by the nazi wing like Bannon etc may be way worse long term.
The surreal irony is that Tyler was such a lukewarm wildcard that he may have huge negotiating power and regardless of his real motives, even with basic lawyer support he could threaten to publicly claim that he was a groyper or an Israeli asset in exchange for all sorts of stuff. He's already heading for the death penalty so what are they gonna do? Kill him earlier by suicide and convince everyone that it was really a conspiracy? He can even play dumb during the trial and do some tell all interview afterwards if he doesn't get a lighter sentence.
So this may also be preemptive damage control by GOP pawns and Israel in case Tyler does one or the other, which also looks suspicious and "confirms" conspiracy theories. I love it.

If it makes you feel any better, anyone that'd met a national level politician is likely only one or few degrees separate from bibi as well.
