Why they using that smug fucking thumbnail. It pisses me off. Want to punch him in his smug face.

[–] PlutoniumAcid@lemmy.world 1 points 51 minutes ago

That's the point exactly.

[–] bagsy@lemmy.world 5 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

If you really want to know who Trump is, google:

Case 5:16-cv-00797-DMG-KS

See section 12.

TRIGGER WARNING!!!

[–] 3abas@lemmy.world 3 points 1 hour ago

That's pretty mild... We know be rapes children.

And the correct response is to lynch the fucker, not to all him politely to release the evidence in himself and cheerlead for Newsom selling MAGA inspired junk.

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 15 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

I’ve heard rumors that there are a bunch of new Reddit accounts randomly asking people about their opinion on the Jimmy Kimmel and Charlie Kirk.

[–] Hector@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago (3 children)

That is interesting, what are your opinions on Jimmy Kimmel and Charlie kirk?

[–] WindyRebel@lemmy.world 3 points 4 hours ago

They have very American sounding names.

[–] But_my_mom_says_im_cool@lemmy.world 11 points 5 hours ago (4 children)

As a Canadian I don’t get the whole gun thing and I’ve tried arguing it even with people on the left who love guns. The reasoning is that you want guns to stand up to tyrants. Well? What the fuck are you guys waiting for??

[–] Alexstarfire@lemmy.world 1 points 10 minutes ago
[–] shawn1122@sh.itjust.works 1 points 21 minutes ago

Having a right to gun is a pretty arcane concept and doesn't exist in the same capacity anywhere else in the world.

It'd one of those unique and bizzare American quirks.

[–] Hector@lemmy.world 6 points 5 hours ago

I think people are waiting for a chance to make an actual difference in acting. They're waiting for leaders to come along, so throwing your life away is not the only option to do something, where you could be a part of something that is working towards a greater goal, all legally should go without saying we have a right to defend ourselves from unlawful attacks.

[–] SupraMario@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago

The 2nd isn't what you jump to right away. We're getting there but we're not there yet. It's a last resort. Right now the left needs to be getting real comfortable with owning firearms, because the fascist are already heavily armed and are wanting to be oppressors.

[–] Dragomus@lemmy.world 169 points 11 hours ago (16 children)

Consider this ... next elections the opposition of Trump wants to put out commercials and videos of how trump's policies hurt America...

But the FCC has them all pulled in name of Trump because they "mislead the American public" ... so only pro trump commercials everywhere...

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

"next elections".

Hah!

Good one.

[–] Azal@pawb.social 2 points 1 hour ago

Oh all his people he loves keeps having elections. They just run unopposed, and win no matter what.

He WANTS the elections... it's a popularity contest, you think Trump would get rid of that?

Actual fair elections on the other hand...

[–] Zephorah@discuss.online 82 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

Underrated comment. Postal service is likely next. Can’t have vote by mail if they won’t deliver.

[–] Hector@lemmy.world 8 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

The post is now on a 7-Day Target for delivery. My entire life 2 to 3 days, including the day you put it in the mail, within 2 to 3 days anywhere in the country it would be delivered. By 2020 it had went down to 3 to 5 days, and now it's just went up to a full seven days. I have to wait 7 days for a piece of mail now. How people are not more upset about this I do not know I am fucking livid with rage.

[–] madasi@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Honestly? The only thing that comes in the mail is bills and ads. I can't remember the last time I mailed something, and it's very rare that something I care about is coming to me by mail. Why do I care if the ads I'm about to sort through and throw away took 2 days or 7 days to get to me? I don't want them either way.

[–] Hector@lemmy.world 3 points 4 hours ago

A lot of us order things through the mail. It is essential to the small business that both parties pretend to care about while they Define it as a thousand employees or something large. And allow tax brakes by subsidiaries of multinationals under those limits but that's another story.

The mail is essential, and you might be happy for physical delivery service given the way that electronic communications have been going recently.

He tried a lot of things his first term that are now happening, with reinforcements.

[–] crusa187@lemmy.ml 36 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

And Louis DeJoy remained postmaster general until March of ‘25. Biden let him continue dismantling the postal service throughout his entire term.

[–] Zedd_Prophecy@lemmy.world 18 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

What Biden allowed post Trump is inconceivable to me. It either shows the fallacies of an old man or how powerful the machine has become.

[–] harmbugler@piefed.social 2 points 2 hours ago

He could've shown up at the Supreme Court holding a shotgun with "OFFICIAL ACTS" engraved down the barrel, but noooo

[–] Hector@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago

What pisses me off even more than Biden's failure is all of the voters that pretend like Biden didn't fail. I already knew Biden was going to fail before he got nominated. Here we are about to repeat the whole Saga again with unwinnable and worthless candidates led by Aristocrats in League with the Enemy. Will not even stand up and fight for the post office which has 80 some percent approval. But I am the asshole. It is my fault he lost, I did not believe hard enough!

Need a more reliable source, preferably from Disney themselves. This is fishy as fuck

[–] But_my_mom_says_im_cool@lemmy.world 10 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago) (1 children)

It’s crazy that American citizens are being disappeared into gulags based on their race, free speech is being silenced by fascists, your rights and services are being stripped, and the best you guys can do is a Disney boycott. As a non American this is so frustrating to watch

[–] Hector@lemmy.world 5 points 5 hours ago

It is even more frustrating to watch as an american. But without leadership there is little to do and we are completely bereft of it. Our opposition politicians are less than worthless and we have no one bringing a strategy to enlist us in. Which is all by design, the Democrats' main job as they see it is quashing any sort of popular reform. Winning elections is secondary if that. They are good cop to Republican bad, even as Republicans are openly playing hitler.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 5 points 6 hours ago

I liked this one in particular:

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 63 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Most of the articles say it was because of the kirk comments, when in reality it was because of the trump comments. They fired Kimmel for showing that trump didn't care about kirk dying.

Starts at about 2 minutes.

Video of monologue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-j3YdxNSzTk

[–] logicbomb@lemmy.world 8 points 10 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago)

And here is a video of my favorite LBC commentator James O'Brien discussing it: https://youtu.be/RV_S-oDqp_c

He also plays the relevant part of the monologue twice.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 41 points 11 hours ago (7 children)

The empire has won, Voldemort has taken over the ministry, Gilead has arrived

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 39 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago) (5 children)

It's not over by a long shot. If it was, they wouldn't give a shit what some late night hosts say. The whole reason they're so sensitive about criticisms of Charlie Kirk is because even after becoming a martyr, people still find him, and them, repulsive. That scares them.

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 5 hours ago

They aren't scared at all.

The only thing they have to worry about is pissing off enough people with guns, if enough of their own base infights too much.

... They have most of the guns. In that base, in the military, in ICE.

The rest of this will just follow the literal Nazi playbook.

The law is whatever they say it is, dissent and be jailed, extradited, shot, whatever.

They will soon totally control almost all the media, and reality will become what they say it is, and most people will mostly believe it.

... Unless an organized and disciplined resistance appears... and we all know how great the Dems are at that... then this has a very predictable, very bad ending... just look at history.

[–] TheFogan@programming.dev 16 points 10 hours ago

unfortunately I don't think so...

I don't think they actually care about Charlie Kirk at all... half of maga hated kirk. Laura Loomer was bashing kirk while he was alive (obviously for very different reasons than us).

His value to maga just went up massively BECAUSE HE'S DEAD. They've wanted to crack down on free speach in the left for ages, but they've lacked the right hook. They wanted to do it with Luigi and Brian Thompson... but sadly they realized that average american's were very familiar with the predatory nature of the health insurance industry, and even brainwashed right wing maniacs have horror stories involving health insurance.

Kirk is a pawn, they aren't trading their values of free speech to protect Kirk. Removing free speech was their values, and Kirks assassination is an excuse to make it happen. If we gave trump a time machine to go back and save Kirk, he'd absolutely turn down the opportunity.

All this over a rapey reality show loser.

[–] metoosalem@feddit.org 14 points 11 hours ago

I can not wait for the next South Park episode

[–] infinitesunrise@slrpnk.net 2 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

The article describes the history of civil wars being tracked by following the violence down from the apex of a hierarchical pyramid, with politicians first, followed by the fourth estate, etc...

Maybe like, I dunno, don't structure your society as a hierarchical pyramid?
