What they're doing is desperately trying to paint a picture where america is evenly divided about it. The reality is maybe 10% of people are such dumb braying hogs they actually liked Charlie Kirk, but the media is trying as hard as they can to make that look 50/50 (and pump up the actual ratio as much as possible) so that they have an excuse and justification for intensified repression of the left. Can't do that if it's obvious theres no real support for it.

Poll after poll for decades consistently shows there's around 20-30% of Americans that "just gone." Full blown "would support literal gas chambers" if that option was on the table. They reflexively just answer whatever the most insane answer is to any question. "Fluoride in the water?" "No. And also, put more lead in the black kids' water!" "Vaccines?" "Fuck no! Just shoot anyone who gets sick. Not the whites ones." "Abortion?" "No. In fact we need forced marriages and forced impregnations of white women by white men."
You'll never see that represented in any media though. That like 70-80% of the country is pro abortion rights, pro healthcare for all, against wars including any sort of military actions at all, etc. If things were represented closer to reality you'd probably even see some of that 20-30% realize their opinions are legitimately insane and maybe shift away from some of it.

Same shit happened with Thompson where they tried to manufacture the consent that people were shocked and afraid because a social murderer got offed and no one bought it.

I can't really think of a time in modern history where mainstream lib media would be dabbing on an assassinated conservative.
Yeah that kind of thing is reserved for poor people, minorities, and non-US citizens doing anything inconvenient for the US (like existing while not licking the empire's boots)
