It was a recent upgrade! God still has his noob abilities when he did the Noah quest.

Can God create a spell that requires so much xp that even God can't use it?

[–] espentan@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

That might be exactly what he has done?!

[–] _stranger_@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

I did that in Morrowind once with console commands, so I'm going with yes.

Honestly 100 years to find a pair of each species (there are 400K known species of beetles) for someone that doesn't have a plane is probably not enough time.

Noah probably had some memorable trips to Australia.

was it 100. I never really noticed a timeframe in the story other than the people laughing at him.

[–] gedaliyah@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Also fun fact: people laughing at Noah was made up by Christians to tell the story to little kids. Not actually in the Bible.

just shows how the indoctrination can get ya. I totally thought it was in the bible and like most christian to athiest I actually know it pretty decent. Can't say I have reread it all that much though.

I have a lot of questions like how do you prepare food for an entire zoo on a boat or what do you when one animal dies.

But my main question is how did this guy know the difference between a female beetle and a male beetle?

Ooh, I know this one! Any time you notice a plot hole, logical error, or absurdity, just wave your hand in the air and say "God works in mysterious ways."

You know what, works for me. I am now religious again!

Wait until you hear about the heat problem.

Young earth creationists claim that radiological dating is off because all that water caused half lifes to go faster. Setting aside the question of how, this would have meant that billions of years worth of radioactive decay happened in the span of a year or so. That's a tremendous amount of heat, and would be enough to turn the Earth into a ball of plasma.

There's some other things, too, like plate tectonics. To explain away certain other problems, the plates would have to have moved pretty damn fast. Ridiculous amounts of friction building up ridiculous amounts of heat. This would also be enough to turn the Earth into a ball of plasma.

It may unironically be "checkmake, YECers". Not that they'll go away entirely, but they like having a veneer of scientific plausibility over their terrible ideas instead of relying on supernatural explanations. There's no way out of this one. The numbers here are just too big for anything but "God fixed it" to work.

No see god wasn't finished creating yet. He somehow only ever created things that were observed and recorded by westen scriptural tradition, as that had top priority.

Also in other continents the people maybe weren't wicked enough to warrant waterboarding.

I'm pretty sure there would be a very convoluted theory possible that's so thick Occam's razor couldn't cut through it.

Was it an ocean? Or a river?

[–] prettybunnys@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 weeks ago

More like a salt marsh during a seismic event

It was the Sea of Reeds (likely the Red Sea). There is a different biblical story in which Joshua parts the Jordan River.
