Does he really wanna go through discovery?

[–] happybadger@hexbear.net 50 points 2 weeks ago

It would be funny to see the full extent of Biden's Der Stürmer. We already know it includes some of the most obnoxious dipshits on twitter, but I want the proper list of everyone being paid by everyone.

Trump has infected the way the entire political class speaks

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 30 points 2 weeks ago

Reminds me of medieval European courts and things, where if the king had a lisp or a big mole on their face or something, everyone else would try to imitate them.

[–] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 13 points 2 weeks ago

i'm trying to make something out of Pontypool and trump or nonce or something but the joke just isn't happening, help me out here

[–] EllenKelly@hexbear.net 10 points 2 weeks ago

that the largest verdicts line left me with that feeling too

many such cases 😢

[–] CyborgMarx@hexbear.net 45 points 2 weeks ago

And risk discovery? The dipshit should come up with a believable bluff next time

pedo_troll is gonna be very normal about this

[–] purpleworm@hexbear.net 2 points 2 weeks ago

Most of his big responses are either being normal about Hasan or attacking vulnerable women. I don't think Lorenz is vulnerable enough to entice him, and this isn't worth attacking Hasan over when he's already busy doing slideshows about Hasan getting unsolicited nudes. You know, the important issues.

I once knew a guy who, whenever someone said something to him he didn't like, responded "I'm gonna sue you!"

The key difference is that I was a fourth grader and the guy was my classmate

[–] stink@lemmygrad.ml 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I also knew a guy like that... still friends with him actually haha

Honestly I think I could turn this into a bit that kills here at the office.

[–] TrashGoblin@hexbear.net 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

And that fourth grader? Alan Dershowitz!

[–] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 2 weeks ago

Or Donald Trump

If you're taking flak, you're over the target

He might genuinely be one of the worst liars I've ever seen. Imagine picking paid political punditry when you're a worse liar than a kid with a mouthful of sweets, claiming someone took them.

[–] purpleworm@hexbear.net 17 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I didn't respect him before, but this is how a child tries to lie. There is no way you can be in his line of work without hearing "AIPAC" spoken a number of times, so his opinion of his audience must be lower than dirt to think they'd buy that.

Like, yeah he's a liar regardless, but this is such pathetic theater that I don't know how to process its implications about the "media ecosystem." He isn't just talking like Trump, he is basically pouring scorn on his audience like Trump by presenting them with such insultingly ridiculous lies, and I'm sure many of them will eat it up since Chorus's immune response has been pretty virulent so far.

[–] happybadger@hexbear.net 17 points 2 weeks ago

so his opinion of his audience must be lower than dirt to think they'd buy that.

Rightfully so. He might have the dumbest Blue MAGA audience outside of the Ukraine sloptubers. If he played peekaboo on air like 30 of them would die trying to find him through the monitor.

[–] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 2 weeks ago

Saw him continue to say he's funded by subscribers not companies but then he has a massive sponsors list on his side

[–] anarchoilluminati@hexbear.net 25 points 2 weeks ago

You know, I'm not alienated by nature.

[–] purpleworm@hexbear.net 20 points 2 weeks ago

Defamation litigation over something that either absolutely true or obviously a statement of opinion really seems to be the move lately . . .

[–] into_highest_invite@lemmygrad.ml 19 points 2 weeks ago

we have some of the best defamation attorneys, folks. some people are saying they've won the largest verdicts, the best verdicts. and uh. i don't know if it's true but a lot of people are saying this!

[–] hollowmines@hexbear.net 16 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

"I am not litigious by nature" is a funny thing to say right after you claim to have spoken with a number of lawyers over an article that accurately describes your bullshit job. buddy, you're only now just learning what your nature is

[–] AssortedBiscuits@hexbear.net 4 points 2 weeks ago

"I am not a shit-in-my-own-pants person by nature." - Me after shitting in my own pants

"She turned me into a newt."

[–] ryepunk@hexbear.net 14 points 2 weeks ago

If you want to see some real cope, head over to /thedavidpakmanshow where of the few posts the mods have allowed about this topic, the majority of the audience is utterly confused as to what this means. They don't understand how to read the wires article at all. Blue Maga has the same reading comprehension as regular Maga, unable to reach basic conclusions from an article without their precious YouTuber telling them what it means.

The vast majority appear to think this a good thing for Democrats to be funding influencers for the Dems but cannot see why not allowing them to cover certain topics stains their credibility as "independent journalists" which is also debatable given pakman seems to be just a news aggregator and offers no levels of journalism beyond just looking up what the associated Press is talking about, and then getting uppity about trump being trump and then miraculously never finding the time to ever talk about Israel at all.

[–] leafperson@hexbear.net 11 points 2 weeks ago

Why even pretend? If you consistently shill for the dems and nurture an intellectually homogenous dem-voting demographic, is it not natural that an interest group whose goals you are achieving would want to financially support you (furthering their control of your demographic, but also just their interests in general)?

I'm not sure what sponsorship law is like but I can't imagine that not broadcasting a view without disclosing that you have a financial incentive to not show that view would be illegal. Other than that no shit right? Shill for the business party (but woke sometimes) is caught up in decades old business tactics?!?! I bet the viewers are gonna be so surprised until they blame the individual and find the next yet-to-be-exposed shill.

I don't have a clue what this is about, or really who Lorenz is. I've seen her name pop up quite a bit lately though because for some reason Ethan KKKlein hates her right now? Can anyone fill me in?

[–] tane@lemy.lol 15 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

She’s a journalist with such a unique brand of online brain poisoning she manages to get almost everyone to hate her.

She constantly harps on masking yet posts pics of herself attending unmasked gatherings. She is in favor of cellphones for children in schools and does advertisements for a company which makes basically parental surveillance unit cell phones for children, and claims her opinion is not skewed by promoting the company because she didn’t actually take any money. She does not have children herself. Lol.

She does good work (this article) and bad work (her interview with the Nazi Chaya raichek which only served as propaganda to humanize her)

[–] Transform2942@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 weeks ago

I only know her as an early adopter of Mastodon, she was one of the first non-tech journalists to be a regular user IIRC
