Wait, isn't this actually a crime, a robbery? The hat was very clearly being given to the child, not to the asshat.

When he took it, it belonged either to Kamil Majchrzak, the tennis player giving the hat to the boy, or to the boy, Brock, it was being given to. I'd say a police investigation and a punishment of some kind would definitely make sense here. If you steal from a child like that, you should get registered as having made a crime.

lol silly, rich people cannot commit crimes. Otherwise they wouldn't be rich!

[–] Mycatiskai@lemmy.ca 37 points 6 days ago

Ban him from buying tickets or being the guest of anyone from all professional tennis competitions for unsportsmanlike conduct.

This is liie the killing thing, kill one perosn its.murder, kill several thosand you're a war hero.

Fuck over one kod, you're a monster, fuck over millions you're the Presodent of the US, or in charge of a bank or medical insurer.

These asshats get this rich by being like this, not sure why the angst in this specific case.

[–] ozymandias@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 6 days ago

people are simple, especially emotionally.
show someone a powerpoint presentation about how this guy is stealing from millions of children: little to no response.
a clear video of him stealing directly from a child: people mad.
plus there’s a lot of videos of people catching a baseball and giving it to the nearest kid… having some sports hero’s hat as an adult is nothing compared to the joy a kid would get out of it.

Not sure why the angst?! Do you not understand psychology 99?? People relate FAR MORE to 1v1 situations like this than the 1vX situations like capitalism.

The same is true in a positive direction, too. That's why it's "The Hero's Journey", not "The Proletariat Won".

Go here and translate to your favorite language. Unless that polish.

In case anyone's as lazy as me here is the summary.

He said that's just how the world works and child should have simply been faster. Note that child already took the hat first and he took it from the kid's hands a full second after.

He also said anyone else would do the same.

Also not written but he is one of the sponsors of this team and could meet privately with the player whenever he wants. So he just wanted to steal from a child that day.

Love how the company name just translates to "drug use" in Swedish.

Why no police were involved in stealing?

“The recent incident at the tennis match has caused a disproportionate online uproar. It’s all about the famous hat, of course. Yes, I took it. Yes, I did it quickly. But as I’ve always said, life is first come, first served,” he claimed.

This guy is a piece of shit.

[–] GoodTransKitty@lemmy.zip 9 points 6 days ago

Wouldn’t mind if a Luigi takes the CEO out.

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Too bad it doesn't seem it was actually him that wrote it

[–] Clent@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

But then he gave the hat back to the boy it was meant for, right? He didn't just offer an empty apology and claim he is a otherwise an amazing person without actually making things right, right?

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

That he took the hat and only gave it back because it blew up on the internet is pretty factual, but that initial quote showing how much of an absolute asshole he is can only be traced back to Reddit, where the pics were deleted no less.

[–] Clent@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 6 days ago

I can't find anything saying he gave it back. I can find articles with him denying he ever said what is claimed above while saying he has to fix his image but doesn't go as far as saying he is going to give that specific hat back. There is also nothing that independently confirms it and that it was based on a Reddit post alone.

There is zero reason to give a ceo the benefit of the doubt, anymore than there is a reason to give the police the benefit of the doubt. We are living in a time where the powerful act without shame and only apologize when caught.

[–] Hawk@lemmy.dbzer0.com 70 points 1 week ago (7 children)

He also threatened to sue everyone 1-starring his business and claimed their IP addresses were given to police.

Real piece of work, hope people won't forget about this

[–] Jyek@sh.itjust.works 11 points 6 days ago

Because the police will do anything at all. Giving negative reviews is not a crime. And a lawsuit is not criminal court. The police will not get involved.

You know everyone is going to forget by next week; hell, by tomorrow.

This is such a good representation of how the rich steal the wealth.

[–] MrSmith@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

"Trickle-down economy"

[–] okmko@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

Pretty much. I feel like the very well idea of amassing is at odds with being egalitarian.

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 104 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Rich asshole who has everything he could ever want, including a hat sees someone being kind to a child and rushes in to make sure the intended kindness goes to him.

He's like this 100% of the time, guaranteed. Being an absolute piece of shit like this is rewarded under capitalism, which is why he's a CEO.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 18 points 6 days ago (1 children)

A LOT of backstabbing in this guy's past.

[–] Revan343@lemmy.ca 17 points 6 days ago

Frontstabbing too I bet

[–] Tattorack@lemmy.world 66 points 1 week ago

What an absolute loser.

[–] Blackmist@feddit.uk 64 points 1 week ago

If this is how he treats a small boy at a tennis match while being filmed, imagine how badly he treats his customers and staff behind closed doors.
