holding flashlight under face

Imagine a terrifying world where we are all ruled by monsters of every stripe. And not hot ones like werewolves, but instead decaying zombies and mummies who are both insensitive to, and actively benefit from the immense suffering they cause on a daily basis. The top echelon of society, filled with profit-seeking, bloodsucking vampires. And the worst of it is that they repeat on a daily basis that what they are doing is not only just, but there is no other possible way to do it.

Pretty spooky, right? What if I told you that this world... was our own?

Happy Halloween!

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Sources on the fighting in Palestine against Israel. In general, CW for footage of battles, explosions, dead people, and so on:

UNRWA daily-ish reports on Israel's destruction and siege of Gaza and the West Bank.

Resources For Understanding The War

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.

Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Telegram Channels

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Pro-Russian

https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.

https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.

https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.

https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.

https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.

https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.

https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.

https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.

Pro-Ukraine

Almost every Western media outlet.

https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.

https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.

So Hakim put out a video I'm getting around to watching. The first book recommendation led me to verso's site where they have like 6 ebooks for free. I'm sure they can be found as pdf's elsewhere as well but figured I'd mention it.

The ebooks for free:

  • Ten Myths About Israel
  • The Palestine Laboratory
  • Palestine Speaks
  • Blaming the Victims
  • The Case for Sanctions Against Israel
  • The Punishment of Gaza

I'm unsubbing from Bernie's emails. His latest resistance to occupation = terrorism and both-sides liberalism "humanitarian pause" pandering two state bullshit is the last straw.

How are they goihg to split the baby Bernie? You think the fascist fanatics that rule Israel will give Palestinians a fair deal, give them their land back? You think they'll drop the settlements and the blockades and go home?

People in office need to understand these are the natives fighting back against their oppressors.

Chileans are marching though Santiago for Palestine. One chant calls on the Gabriel Boric government to ‘break relations with Israel’.

'A romper, a romper, relación con Israel!'

Chile, Colombia and Honduras have recalled their respective ambassadors in Israel as a means of protest but still maintain relations with Israel. Bolivia is the only country to officially sever relations in the last month. Bolivia have broke relations with Israel.

500,000 trapped in ‘siege within a siege’ in north Gaza: Oxfam

The charity organisation has said it gravely concerned for about 500,000 Palestinians – as well as the over 200 Israeli and other national Hamas-held captives – currently trapped in a “siege within a siege” in northern Gaza.

The organisation said Israeli forces have a “near-complete stranglehold on Gaza City and the northern region, effectively cutting the enclave in half from the border wall to the sea”.

“We are sharing resources with ten other families. The markets almost empty. There’s no fresh food across all the city. We depend on canned food. The bread markets have no electricity and only a limited amount of fuel – one day, two days, five days – we don’t know,” Oxfam humanitarian worker Alhasan Swairjo via a voice-note from Gaza City, according to Oxfam.

“We are making bread at home but don’t know in next few days if we will have enough cooking gas. Our children are suffering, they don’t understand why we moved, why Israel is shooting us. We cannot give a good explanation why all this is happening. Now we’re fighting to survive, our children are fighting to survive,” Swairjo said.

Does someone have a link to that poll showing that Israeli voters overwhelmingly support bombing civilians. I swear it was posted in this thread this week but I can't find it.

A couple tweets by Yanis Varoufakis

Future generations will censure us for letting this happen. The death count has surpassed 10 thousand, mostly children and women. There is not even enough water to wash the wounds of survivors, let alone food, drugs etc. How can anyone sleep at night?

"IDF says it carried out airstrike on Gaza ambulance". Can there be a stronger invitation to the International Criminal Court to charge them with war crimes? [Even if the ambulance was carrying a Hamas overlord, bombing it violates the Geneva Convention.]

Benjamin Netanyahu: “Just as the United States would not agree to a ceasefire after the bombing of Pearl Harbor or after the terrorist attack of 9/11. Israel will not agree to a cessation of hostilities with Hamas after the horrific attacks of October 7th. The Bible says that there is a time for peace and a time for war. This is a time for war.”

U.N. human rights lawyer resigns, criticizes the agency and calls the Israeli strikes in Gaza ‘genocide.’

The director of the New York office of the United Nations’ human rights agency has resigned, accusing the U.N. in a sharply worded letter of abandoning its own principles and international law, and of failing to stop Israel’s deadly bombardment of Gaza, which he called a “genocide.”

The former director, Craig Mokhiber, a human rights lawyer, wrote in the letter dated Oct. 28: “I write at a moment of great anguish for the world, including for many of our colleagues. Once again, we are seeing a genocide unfolding before our eyes, and the Organization that we serve appears powerless to stop it.”

Palestinian telecoms company says ‘all communications and Internet services’ with Gaza cut off

Paltel said there is a “complete interruption” of the services with the Gaza Strip. It said the interruption was caused by “international routes that were previously reconnected being cut off again”. We’ll bring you more updates as soon as we get more information.

In fact, [Edward] Said was Obama’s English professor at Columbia University. Obama attended many pro-Palestine events when he was younger, and he worked closely with many Palestinian organizers. He was supportive or at the least even-handed. That he capitulated to state interests… shame.

Anyone else get struck with the feeling that any time we spend doing things OTHER than talking about the Genocide in Gaza is a moral failing in a sense? Like an understandable one because we have human limits, but still like. Any time I as an American spend not opposing my country's complicity in it especially?

Brazil's Workers Party (Lula's Party) slams Israel for holding Brazilians in Gaza

BRASILIA, Nov 3 (Reuters) - Brazil's ruling Workers Party criticized the Israeli government on Friday for not allowing 34 Brazilians to leave Gaza, saying Israel is playing favorites when deciding who should be allowed to evacuate the besieged Palestinian territory.

Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen told his Brazilian counterpart Brazil's nationals would leave Gaza by Wednesday, a Brazilian foreign ministry spokesman said late on Friday.

In three days since the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt opened to allow nationals of other countries to leave Gaza, Brazilians waiting to leave were not on the list approved by Israel, despite diplomatic efforts to include them.

"For the third time, the Israeli government denied the departure of Brazilian citizens threatened by the massacre against the civilian population in the Gaza strip," Workers Party president Gleisi Hoffmann said in a social media post.

She said the Israeli government has not provided any explanation for what she said was discrimination. Brazil tried to find a negotiated solution to the conflict when it presided over the U.N. Security Council in October, Hoffmann said.

"Unfortunately, the Israeli government signals that it has established a political hierarchy for the release of civilians, favoring some countries over others," Hoffmann said.

"We cannot allow that Brazilian civilians remain threatened in a region under military massacre," she added.

Hundreds of foreign passport holders and gravely injured Palestinians have been evacuated from Gaza via the Rafah crossing to Egypt since Wednesday in a deal brokered by Qatar between Egypt, Israel and Hamas, in coordination with the U.S.

Israel has vowed to wipe out Hamas, which rules Gaza, after the militant group killed 1,400 people and took more than 240 hostages in an Oct. 7 assault in southern Israel. Gaza health officials said on Saturday that more than 9,488 Palestinians have been killed so far in the Israeli assault.

A diplomatic source briefed on Egyptian plans said some 7,500 foreign passport holders would be evacuated over two weeks.

Brazilian officials said they have no explanation for the failure to let their citizens out of Gaza. Some local media have speculated it is due to positions taken by Brazil at the United Nations and comments by President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

Lula has criticized the "terrorism" of Hamas that started the war, but he has also criticized Israel for its "insane" bombardment of Gaza that has killed hundreds of children.

They're going to bomb the hospital. It's just a matter of time.

Palestinian Red Cross Society says as heavy artillery and airstrikes hit near Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza

The Al-Quds hospital trembled following heavy “artillery and airstrikes" in the surrounding Tal Al Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City, the Palestinian Red Cross Society said early Tuesday morning local time.

Those sheltering inside the hospital are “experiencing fear and panic,” the Palestinian Red Cross Society said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

Some 12,000 internally displaced civilians are sheltering at the hospital, group said on Sunday.

The Israeli military did not have an immediate comment on reports of activity in the area.

The Al-Quds hospital is located north of Wadi Gaza — the line south of which Israel has urged people in Gaza to flee.

In central Gaza, journalist Hassan Eslayeh told CNN that artillery fire in the area was consistent all day and night Monday.

He witnessed the injured and dead being brought to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, including 31 bodies at the morgue tent that were being prepared for a morning prayer on the dead.
