Sure I'm not totally nicotine free in my life, but I figure if the world is going to shit, it's the only sustainable vice I can indulge in. The disposable vapes are so yucky and filled with nasty shit, other comrades on here who shared the studies about the heavy metals in these things pushed me over the edge to quitting them.

I've noticed my sleep was the first thing that always improves. When I vaped I used to wake up like every 2 or 3 hours, hit the vape half-awake, then go back and toss and turn. Now I sleep the entire night through, just getting up to pee once.

So that's cool. Goes without saying I also quit smoking too, pretty sure I'm a year out or close to on that, but I haven't kept track so it's fuzzy.

Congratulations! I post about the dangers and besides coffee, it's my last vice. I gotta quit, it's terrible. Plus, addictions quit are one less thing to bother you when things get more real, because they're going to do that.

What pouches are you using, maybe I'll try that, or just go cold turkey and let the world deal with my inner redacted. They're probably used to it anyway.

ty I go with the on! pouches in 8mg, soon I will switch them down to 6 or 4 mg

Thank you. I might try cold turkey supplemented with whole cloves, if I can remember to look for and actually find them. At my age and inability to see a dentist, it may be the better idea.

Well done! Ive gone from 8mg to now 2mg. 4 to 2 was much harder for me than 8 to 4. My plan is to start limiting myself to less and less a day.

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 6 points 2 weeks ago

Yeah I plan on working my way to the lowest mg and parking it there.

Way to fucking go champ!!! No shit quitting/reducing nicotine was by far one of the hardest things I ever did even reducing was not a fun trip. Even if you do fall of the wagon (shit happens) hope you’re proud of your very big accomplishment 🤙🏾

Even if you’re not completely off nicotine, every step you take in fighting your addiction is a big deal chavez-salute

That's fucking awesome! Getting lots of sleep is great too because your body is working overtime repairing all your bits and pieces. Keep that momentum going!

Proud of you too and your sobriety I know it's important to you! And thanks again for planting the seed in my noggin about the nic pouches.

well done comrade! I've been thinking more and more about letting go of mine as well, I've been vaping for 10 years this year and while I still do enjoy it and I'm grateful for vapes helping me stop smoking cigarettes, I think it's well past time to move on

[–] ghosts@hexbear.net 4 points 2 weeks ago

Every vape user can quit tomorrow, can you quit today? thonk

[–] FedPosterman5000@hexbear.net 3 points 2 weeks ago

Hell yeah keep at it! I’m one week off weed (after a decade lmao), and about to take another run at quitting nic this week 💪 proud of you comrade

[–] AOCapitulator@hexbear.net 3 points 2 weeks ago

Yo! I think we quit on the same fuckin day!

Congrats, keep it up!

I did it once before and picked it back up after a vacation with a friend who had one, but so far so good on kicking it again, i think about it once a day if that at this point, soon I'll have forgotten completely!
