Swap? What land is Ukraine getting in return?

[–] Hideakikarate@sh.itjust.works 41 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The opportunity to give more land later!

The gift that keeps on giving

Imagine someone broke into your house and started throwing all your stuff out of the bedroom and putting their stuff in. And now one of your friends is telling you that you need to give your neighbor your bedroom and stop trying to throw them out or try to fight them. All while they talk about what to do with your house and bedroom without you around.

Also, they murdered part of your family.

This will be just like his ‘deal’ with the Taliban he made like 10 days before he left office last time, and that the Biden admin was legally required to honour, and that the ensuing clusterfuck everyone blamed Biden for.

This is his MO. This time, he won’t have someone else to blame, but he’s likely too stupid to realise it will be on him this time. In his mind, that ‘deal’ with the Taliban that left out Afghan officials was ‘a great deal, the best deal’. I hope he steps in it this time.

Putin will wipe the floor with him, but to his cultists, this will look like a great deal that Zelenskyy is too stubborn to accept, even though Ukraine will be left out and the ‘deal’ will involve unacceptable concessions.

It will please the flock, though, and they won’t even register that Putin is leading them by the nose ring.

Steps in it this time? Dude hasnt had shoes for decades, it's just caked up old shit he's been stepping in.

I meant ‘steps in it this time’ with his cultists, and….

Oh. Yeah. You’re right.

Heads of state shouldn’t be authorized to swap land in any case.

Zelenskyy is not the one that "disagrees" with giving up land. He just points to their constitution since it's simply not something he's allowed to agree to do.

Not that Trump understands that a constitution can limit the powers of a president ...

Well, not every country has "constitutional flexibility" like Russia, where text can simultaneously guarantee rights for people's self-determination and claim territories where sovereignty/independence were declared even before Russia had a constitution, like Chechnya.

Things a rapist would say.

Isn't Russia the one always talking about taking Alaska back?

[–] Sunshine@piefed.ca 9 points 2 days ago

You’re out of your depth Trump.
