Fun fact, this comic is by an artist who goes by JollyJack. This artist worked for Rare for quite a while, and his art in his recognizable art style can be seen prominently in the borders added to some screens of the Xbox version of Banjo Kazooie.

JollyJack is probably most well-known for his porn comics, which largely focus on various types of expansion and transformation.

Have fun with that knowledge.

Edit: Also, "The Adventures of Meow the Hedgehog". The others are way more horror than this one.

I actually didn't know that first part. That's amazing

Oh!

I'm not a fan of one word comments, but yours helped. I didn't register that the monster was Sonic; I thought it was some monster that was trying to grab a hapless victim but then encountered a protective sigil with which I was unfamiliar.

Instead it was an addicted hedgehog reaching out to golden rings. Surprisingly that makes much more sense.

Thank you again for explaining.

I get all that, but what about the pregnancy??

[–] toynbee@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I don't understand the question.

Ah. I hadn't seen that version. I can theorize, but have no real explanation.

Lay your theories on me. I have none.

After realizing the fetus said "Tails?" I have to assume it's Sonic. Initially I was interpreting his pleasure at acquiring a ring as being akin to sexual release, which sort of (in a very loose manner) connected the events; but after realizing it's probably him in utero, I'm almost back to my original assumption.

Perhaps the earring is, indeed, an unknown protective sigil, one that sucks in and contains the assailant. Were that the case, the woman might have adorned herself with it, not knowing of potential consequences, hence her surprise at the sudden apparent pregnancy - actually imprisonment (maybe both).

Because of what I just typed, I feel the need to share something less upsetting. Did you know that Tails' real name is Miles Prower? I've known that since at least Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast, but it wasn't until I said it out loud to my wife and she laughed that I noticed it was a pun.

He's so fast he got her pregnant before she could even see or feel it. Imagine touching the ring is like the Speed Force.

Hmmm.
Indeed.
I see that some of those are numbers.

Cheat codes for Sonic 2 on Sega

Edit: The codes are entered in the sound test screen, then you gotta restart the system via the controller by pressing Start, then hold the A button. It's timed though, you gotta hit all the sound test samples in pretty quick for the cheats to work.

[–] AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I guess my lack of console culture shows. How did you even enter characters on that thing?

[–] over_clox@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Damn, this bro went the slow incremental method, I think button C jumped through the numbers way faster..

I'm glad pc cheat codes were more accessible than that. Even though it doesn't make for such an interesting demo.

The game has a seemingly random 'Sound Test' option, which brings up a menu where you can test every single sound effect in the game. The sound effects are addressed in hexadecimal.

I think the main buttons are A and C, one increments the least significant digit, the other increments the most significant digit.

Its kinda hard to explain much beyond that, but I'll dig around and see if I can find a tutorial on YT..
