It's brilliant, of course, business-wise.... but it's also infuriating. It reminds me starkly of Collaboration.

DESCRIPTION: A space for anyone who uses Apple products, appreciates what they get right, and wants to talk plainly about what they don’t. This is a friendly place for healthy criticism. You don’t have to love the company. You don’t have to hate it either. If you want honest discussion about Apple hardware, software, ecosystem choices, design decisions, frustrations, or pleasant surprises, you’re welcome here.
RULES: This is a place for:
- Thoughtful critique, real-world experience, and respectful disagreement
- Sharing tips, solutions, workarounds, and overlooked features
- Questioning decisions without turning everything into a complaint thread
- Welcoming users at any level of experience or enthusiasm
This is not a place for:
- Trolling, pile-ons, or knee-jerk negativity
- Brand loyalty debates
- Personal attacks, sarcasm aimed at other users, or rhetorical grandstanding
- Gatekeeping based on technical skill, platform history, or product ownership
- Derogatory references to cults or fanboyism. I don’t actually believe those things really exist anymore. If you wanna talk about them in a historical context, that’s totally fine.
You use Apple. You think about it. (Maybe you think different). That’s all it takes to participate here.
I hope Cheeto fingers breaks it.
I understand companies sucking up to the administration is not a new concept, but man, seeing them do it so blatantly is disgusting.
Viewed from a business perspective, this is brilliant. They give the toddler a shiny toy, they get what they want. Fuck me and Trump's too dumb to realize he should be insulted. Whether Apple or Cook paid for it, it might as well have cost them nothing. Bangin' investment!
Look at all the love the tech billionaires got, just from dropping what to them is pocket lint on Trump's inauguration. I ain't even mad.
Something tells me Tim Apple wants something.
Since there’s the rumour Donald is going to impose chip tariffs, I’m guessing he wants an exemption
Why the fuck did everyone just go "Guess we'll kiss his ring?"
What more proof do you need that the Deep State does not exist, then the amount of ass-kissing Trump gets? From everyone in power?
because the United States is run by big business, and it's much easier for big business to only need to bribe one man than to bribe several dozen.
I don't feel as if they need to. It's like Huang and Cook are taking advantage of his colossal ego to get away with whatever they want.
The US justice system and Congress have established that there is one person completely above the law, and that mega-corporations only have to lobby that one person to get what they want. It has made lobbying more efficient for them than ever before.
The deep state does exist. All public news is just a facade done to appease or distract the public. If you dig in, you will find eerie timings and coincidences of government actions and news.
A recent example would be Trump threatens India about Russian oil trade just after OPEC increases production. So the net impact is zero on oil prices, political clout for Trump, pressure on India for trade deal but no economic loss to India.
Everything is a fucking chess game. They have the eyes on the king and we keep focusing on pawns
If you are referring to the public actions of the President of the United States as 'deep state' you're just mad at the state. No need to jump at shadows when there is a very real and very objectional government right there doing it in the open.
I am not blaming anyone. I am saying that there is rhyme and reason for some of the recent announcements, something which Trump alone cannot do.
There is no deep state.
Just the deep state of confusion in some easily-duped silly geese.
How embarrassing. :(
This reminds me of how everyone has to give Ming The Merciless a tribute.
I understand being gay isn’t someone’s entire identity but I find it astounding that men like Tim Cook and Scott Bessent see no problem pocketing their gay privilege (being married, having surrogate children etc) for a quick buck. Money truly corrupts all.
Once you have a certain amount of money you're no longer "gay" or "straight" in the sense that you don't belong in any of these communities anymore. Tim Cook can fuck right off, he's not welcome in any queer spaces that I run. US policies don't affect Tim, they never will, he's excepted himself from the entire human race at this point, along with all his billionaire peers.
Very true.
I remember Oprah mentioning once that one of her neighbors was complaining about ‘black people’ or something like that, and she was like, ‘um…’ and the guy no joke said to her ‘but you’re not black!’
For them, ‘rich’ is indeed a totally different species, one they view as superior.
(And yes, I know Oprah is an ass, but I still found that conversation she related to be amusing.)
I miss Steve Jobs. I don’t care if he was an asshole; assholes, get things done, and we’re not afraid to say the quiet part loud when we see something that sucks and needs to be fixed.
Yeah, once you pass the hectomillionaire threshold, I think you just become "rich", because large swathes of systemic problems stop being problems.
I keep forgetting when you get that rich your biggest problems are how to create technocratic city states and living forever through unholy blood rituals.
He can put it on his mantle next to the Epstein files.
“Thanks for the Laserdisc. I’ll put it next to my Unrepentant Pedophile Awards.”
This is fucked up. Tim should be removed as CEO.
Well, I mean IBM got all the recognition from the fascists last time, so you can't blame Apple for trying to get in on the ground floor this time around.
They're going to have to work harder than this if they want to compete with Microsofts Azure Cloud Genocide Computing Infrastructure. The only difference between IBM and Microsoft at this point is the tattoo: its now an IMEI.
And now IBM is irrelevant hopefully Apple becomes so also.
IBM took over 50 years to become irrelevant after the fascists they worked with were overthrown. I suspect the "punishment" had no bearing on those choices, and certainly anyone making those decisions didn't feel the impact of IBM losing relevance. I hope something more substantial and immediate happens to Apple and the other leaders who bent the knee.
So the emulments clause is just dead, huh?
The Supreme Court legalized bribery as free speech. You can’t make this shit up.
Because of the crypto bullshit? Yeah.
Tim Apple
This is an onion article....right?
...Fuck.
Lmao. Glad I don't support that POS company, but my wife is stuck in the ecosystem and won't leave. So I'm stuck supporting them low key. Ugh.
