They constantly harp on this because the only alternative read on the situation for Kamala stans is "I supported the person who pledged support for a genocide, lost, and still got the genocide."
And somehow.
Some fucking how.
They made it about something else.
to all the people in the back: no, no one is saying that kamala would've definitely done things the same way as trump on israel. we're just saying that if she was going to do anything different, she didn't give any indication about it whatsoever. anything. not even a crumb.
And even now she still doesn't give even one fucking shred of an indication that she'd do anything different whatsoever.
De la Cruz was electable, if you voted for her, Liberal. My adhd ass got to the polls with like an hour left, wrote her name in, voted down ballot for the least carcinogenic options. You could have too. It was her turn after all.
spoiler
(This is not discounting actual voter fraud committed against poor and minority communities. Especially since 99% of the people complaining present as white as me/my neighbors.)
TIL Biden isn't a white man.
i think libs dont know this was going on under biden because msnbc didnt tell them it was bad until trump started doing it
He was vice president for a black man, so he is black by association
If you aren't me, you ain't black!
Genocide under Biden: You just don't understand, this is just so complex!
Genocide under Trump: This is bad and somehow, your fault!

I know there must be a term for this sort of thing, where they do the opposite of putting themselves in someone else's shoes and instead imagine everyone else has exactly the same viewpoint as them, just flipped and reversed. (Or they think everyone secretly agrees with them, they just pretend not to in order to be contrarian)
Projection?
I guess that would be the term, yeah. I thought it might be one of those fancy psychology words. Maybe if we use the Latin and call it proiectura or something it will make it sound fancier.
I looked it up and have two points: Naive realism, the assumption that yours is the default, objective, and correct view, while others are biased or contrarian which corresponds to the last thing you said
Also, it's not what you were asking about, but it still felt really on-the-nose:
Naive realism is a good term for what I was struggling to describe, thanks!
I have seen that second one used a lot when it comes to any sort of western accusation against other countries, just look at accusations of "Russia is going to genocide Ukraine" (while Ukraine was literally trying to do that in the Donbass) or "China is trying to do economic imperialism and debt traps" (when those countries were literally only suffering because of the west doing that to them already.)
False consensus effect.
