I guess that would be the term, yeah. I thought it might be one of those fancy psychology words. Maybe if we use the Latin and call it proiectura or something it will make it sound fancier.
I looked it up and have two points: Naive realism, the assumption that yours is the default, objective, and correct view, while others are biased or contrarian which corresponds to the last thing you said

I have seen that second one used a lot when it comes to any sort of western accusation against other countries, just look at accusations of "Russia is going to genocide Ukraine" (while Ukraine was literally trying to do that in the Donbass) or "China is trying to do economic imperialism and debt traps" (when those countries were literally only suffering because of the west doing that to them already.)
