Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed.

All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body.

If you are citing a Twitter post as news, please include not just the twitter.com URL but also xcancle.org (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance, such as Libredirect or archive them as you would any other reactionary source (archive.today, web.archive.org, ghostarchive.org). Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed.

Mass-tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken Markov chain bot will result in a comm ban.

Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.

Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned.

Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society.

Al-Fashir, the capital of North Darfur (a little east of that deep red zone in the west of the megathread map), is the last major holdout of the Sudanese government in that state, and is currently under siege by the RSF. Losing it would be a significant blow to the SAF, though given how the conflict lines are shaping up, it seems increasingly plausible that there will be a de facto - if not de jure - partition of Sudan, unless the military situation substantially changes. This is because the RSF have been pushed out of central Sudan, while the SAF are being pushed out of Western Sudan - although, the situation is pretty complex and has been known to change rapidly before.

As has been a constant feature of the Sudan Civil War - perhaps the single worst humanitarian crisis on the planet right now when measured by numbers - the civilian situation pales in comparison to the military situation, with hundreds of thousands of children dead from famine, and tens of millions of people experiencing extreme food insecurity.

Al-Fashir has been the destination of many thousands of refugees fleeing genocide, and food and aid supplies into the town are being explicitly blocked by the RSF, resulting in scenes similar to what is happening in Gaza right now. The big difference is that fleeing from major battle zones is at least somewhat of an option, though people are often caught and robbed or enslaved or trafficked while moving to neighbouring towns and cities - and these cities are often experiencing similar conditions to places that refugees are leaving.

🚨 Below is a translated post from the "Free Them All 'The Prisoners Are Not Numbers' " Telegram Channel: — In cramped, dark cells, thousands of Palestinian prisoners languish under harsh and inhumane conditions. Their suffering is not limited to shackles and walls—it extends to bodies ravaged by disease, and to spirits exhausted by humiliation and isolation. In prisons such as "Megiddo," "Ofer," "Negev," "Gilboa," and "Janot," the forms may differ, but the oppression is the same: deliberate starvation, daily repression, rampant illnesses, and deprivation of the most basic rights. These are not isolated incidents, but a systematic policy carried out in deadly silence.

"Megiddo" Prison: Epicenter of Scabies Outbreak and Deliberate Medical Neglect "Megiddo" Prison stands out as one of the most deteriorated detention centers, where prisoners, including children, suffer from a widespread outbreak of scabies. This skin disease causes continuous pain and itching, leading to boils that make movement and sleep difficult. Despite the prisoners’ chronic suffering, the prison administration refuses to provide adequate treatment, turning the disease into yet another tool of torture, all while continuing a starvation policy that further undermines their overall health.

"Ofer" Prison: Escalating Repression and Widespread Disease "Ofer" Prison has witnessed a marked escalation in repression, with violent raids carried out by special units accompanied by police dogs and stun grenades, resulting in one prisoner suffering broken ribs. Alongside this brutality, there is a growing spread of scabies, compounded by a clear starvation policy. The quantity and quality of food have sharply declined, causing severe weight loss and other health issues such as dizziness and extreme weakness.

"Negev" Prison: Brutal Assaults and Repeated Abuses In the "Negev" Prison, brutal physical assaults are frequent, including broken ribs and prisoners’ bodies being burned with cigarettes, in addition to horrifying incidents of sexual assault. Prisoners also suffer from severe food shortages, with testimonies confirming the continuation of a starvation policy. Constant repression and the use of rubber-coated bullets during cell raids greatly worsen their physical and psychological suffering.

"Gilboa" Prison: Night Raids and Severe Shortages of Essentials "Gilboa" Prison has seen an increase in violent raids during the night or at dawn, where forces use torture devices such as electric stun guns, batons, and tear gas. Prisoners face severe food shortages, with portions reduced to mere mouthfuls. Basic hygiene items such as shampoo and toilet paper are heavily restricted, while the spread of scabies worsens the deteriorating health conditions affecting hundreds of inmates.

"Janot" Prison (formerly "Nafha" and "Ramon"): Isolation and Communication Restrictions In "Janot" Prison, physical and verbal abuse dominate prisoners’ daily lives, along with frequent searches that further restrict their limited freedoms. Severe restrictions on lawyer visits—granted only once every month or two—deepen their isolation, depriving them of meaningful contact with the outside world, harming their mental health, and hindering their ability to defend their rights.

What happens behind these bars is not mere negligence, but a crime committed every single day against defenseless human beings. For a prisoner to fall ill and be left without treatment, to be beaten, tortured, and starved—these are violations that cannot be met with silence. It is our duty to speak out, expose these practices, and demand protection for the prisoners, to preserve what remains of their dignity and health. Because in this case, silence is not neutrality—it is complicity with the oppressor.

Brazil resumes direct flights to Venezuela after a nine-year suspension. Brazilian companies that had suspended flights to Caracas in 2016 are once again offering four weekly flights to Venezuela. Since 2016, direct flights from Gol and Latam Airlines to the Venezuelan capital have been suspended due to the difficulty companies have in sending profits from air operations to Brazil.

At the time, Maduro controlled and limited the legal purchase of dollars, which prevented foreign companies from repatriating their dividends to their countries of origin. In addition to the decision by Brazilian airlines, other companies, such as Lufthansa, Alitalia, and Air Canada, also announced the suspension of flights to Venezuela between 2014 and 2016.

In recent years, the only direct flight between Brazil and Venezuela was operated by the Venezuelan state-owned airline Conviasa, connecting the cities of Manaus and Puerto Ordaz. With Latam, on the other hand, it is only possible to reach Venezuela by connecting in Bogotá.

🟢 Hamas leader Hussam Badran to Ultra Palestine: — There are no negotiation meetings, neither in Doha nor in Egypt.

In the last round that was in Doha, we were on the verge of signing an agreement, were it not for the American coup.

We are in daily and continuous contact with the mediators to discuss the issue of stopping the war. We do not stop communications and efforts even if there are no negotiation rounds or delegations.

The complexities of the internal Palestinian situation persist; all this war and bloodshed have not succeeded in unifying our institutions or leadership.

No party from the Palestinian Authority or the PLO has officially asked us to participate in negotiations. On the contrary, we take the initiative to consult with them and keep them informed.

We are in communication with leaders from Fatah and the Palestinian Authority; in most negotiation rounds, we update them on the situation and listen to their opinions.

We remain ready to implement past unity agreements, but their application is stalled by the PA leadership's refusal to proceed.

Whoever wants to renew Palestinian institutions must commit to the previously signed agreements, not by imposing unilateral conditions on any faction for participating in elections. Insisting that adherence to the failed Oslo path is a condition for elections violates national agreements and is a policy of unilateralism.

Our goal is first to stop the war, then to arrange the Palestinian situation based on an internal national consensus. Governance is an internal Palestinian matter, and we will not accept dictates from any outside party.

Our last response to the mediators was viewed as positive and constructive by Qatar, Egypt, and even the occupation’s own delegation in Doha.

It was the American envoy's response, which contradicted the positive atmosphere, that was surprising to all parties and derailed a potential agreement.

We are not betting on unseen or intangible things. Our positions are based on a clear assessment of our people's interests, formulated after consultation with the other factions.

The "israeli" cabinet’s decision to occupy Gaza is not strange. This occupation does not need a pretext to continue its genocidal war and crimes against our people.

I'm a little worried that the US will give Russia everything it wants in Europe in exchange for alignment against China, possibly taking India along with them.

Can only hope that the mutual lack of trust built up over decades and the massive Russophobia brainwashing campaign will prevent that outcome.

A queer friendly church in Grand Haven, Mi has had their Pride Flag once again stolen.

article

Two women stole a Pride flag from the stoop of a Grand Haven church, video appears to show.

St. John’s Episcopal Church, located at 524 Washington Ave. near 6th Street in Grand Haven, shared video of the alleged theft on social media Saturday.

“A little before 1am early this morning, our Pride Flag was stolen by two young women,” the post says. “In the attached video, you can see one removing the flag while her friend is either recording a video or taking photos. If you recognize these young women, please contact the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety.”

The video shows the two women, wearing what appears to be matching light blue shirts, standing at the church’s steps. After commenting on whether or not the church has a Ring camera, one of the two women climbs up the stairs, unscrewing the flag’s pole and taking down both it and the Pride flag.

The other woman appears to take a photo or video as the first woman takes the flag down. They then walk off screen, holding the flag.

“Oh my God,” one of them can be heard saying.

News 8 has blurred their faces as they have not been charged with a crime.

This is the second time the church has had its Pride flag stolen, Rev. Jared Cramer told News 8. He said the first theft, which was also caught on video, went unsolved.

He said the church has submitted a report to the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety.

A new flag should be up within a day or two thanks to members of the community. Shortly after sharing the video to Facebook, multiple people offered to replace it.

“Thank you all for your kind words of support,” the church said in a Facebook comment. “For those who have offered to help replace—the flag is not the expensive part, it’s the pole. Given the way the wind whips down Washington, it’s a high-quality steel pole

It said donations to the church’s building fund would be “gratefully welcome.”

Edit

This church is a major suppporter of Pride events, and engages in lawfare against bigoted county admins.

Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke today with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, completing his phone calls to the leaders of the other founding members of BRICS (China, India, South Africa, and Brazil) ahead of his meeting with Donald Trump next week.

Putin and Trump will meet in Alaska, in what the White House sees as an attempt to secure an agreement to end the war waged by Moscow against Ukraine. Trump even suggested yesterday that a peace agreement between the two countries could include “some exchange of territory.”

Putin's phone call lasted about 40 minutes, during which he shared information about his ongoing discussions with the United States and recent efforts for peace between Russia and Ukraine.

According to the Planalto Palace, Putin “thanked Brazil for its commitment and interest in this issue.” President Lula, in turn, emphasized that Brazil “has always supported dialogue and the search for a peaceful solution and reaffirmed that his government is available to contribute whatever is necessary, including within the scope of the Group of Friends of Peace, launched on the initiative of Brazil and China.”

The Kremlin released a statement saying that the Brazilian president “expressed support for efforts to help resolve the crisis in Ukraine.” Putin is stepping up diplomatic contacts with influential emerging countries that have allied themselves with Russia or remained neutral in the conflict with Ukraine, observers note.

Putin has already spoken with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, and leaders from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and the United Arab Emirates.

Trump imposed an additional 25% tariff on Indian products because India purchases Russian oil, which is cheaper. New Delhi has signaled that it will not stop buying Russian oil anytime soon. At the same time, it has frozen plans to purchase US weapons and canceled a high-level visit to Washington. In the case of Brazil, there have been threats so far, but no concrete sanctions. About 90% of imports from Russia are fertilizers and diesel fuel.

Crypto comrades (I know youre out there)

I recently got into tracking charts for commodities in order to get a more complete picture for what is happening in the world of finance capital. Does anyone have a good explanation for this 20% Cryptocurrency expansion over the past month? What nefarious things are happening?

Basically the chart shows that the value of the combined total of all crypto currencies has increased about 30% since a low in mid June 2025 (after the 12 day war) which is 900 billion USD.

Bitcoin is also "worth" almost 120,000 US dollars now 😳

I've also seen people discuss that the US government is propping up the "tether" "stablecoin" because it pumps up the Cryptocurrency market. I dont even know where to look to find good analysis of it besides a Ben Norton video. Is there any good articles I can read more on this?

I'm trying to get a better understanding of this global AI-compute Genocide bubble that is sustaining the empire in the midst of what is clearly an enormous crisis of imperialism.

Australia has announced they will recognize a Palestinian State in the upcoming UN general assembly meeting in September

ArticleAustralia will move to recognise a state of Palestine at the next United Nations General Assembly next month, with a condition that terror group Hamas play no role in its future governance.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said Australia would work with the international community to make recognition a reality.

"Australia will recognise the state of Palestine. Australia will recognise the right of the Palestinian people to a state of their own, predicated on the commitments Australia has received from the Palestinian Authority," Mr Albanese said.

"A two-state solution is humanity's best hope to break the cycle of violence in the Middle East and to bring an end to the conflict, suffering and starvation in Gaza."

The Palestinian Authority has promised Australia it would recognise Israel's right to exist, demilitarise and hold general elections, among other commitments.

Mr Albanese said every generation had known "failures and false storms" in the decades of failure to internationally recognise a state of Israel and of Palestine.

But he said the world could not wait for success to be guaranteed.

"The risk of trying is nothing compared to the danger of letting this moment pass us by. The toll of the status quo is growing by the day and it could be measured in innocent lives," Mr Albanese said.

Foreign Minister Penny Wong said it had been more than 77 years since the world promised a Palestinian state.

"In the nearly two years since October 7, we have been working with the international community on breaking the cycle of violence," she said.

"We can't keep waiting for the end of a peace process that has ground to a halt."

The prime minister said he had spoken with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a "long" and "civil" discussion.

"The arguments he put to me were very similar to the arguments he put more than a year ago. It seems to me very clearly ... we need a political solution, not a military one," he said.

Ahead of the decision, Mr Netanyahu told journalists that Australia and other nations were "delusional" for thinking Palestinian recognition would bring peace.

"To have European countries and Australia march into that rabbit hole, just like that. Fall right into it ... I think it's actually shameful, but it's not going to change our position," Mr Netanyahu said.

Australia has long maintained a bipartisan position that the states of Israel and Palestine should be able to peacefully coexist under a "two-state solution" and within internationally recognised borders.

But as a number of Australia's allies, including the United Kingdom, France and Canada, say they are prepared to formally recognise Palestine next month, momentum has built for Australia to follow.

New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters confirmed this afternoon it too was carefully weighing its position on recognition and would decide in the next month.

The prime minister said last month, however, his government would only move to recognise Palestine if doing so would be a "meaningful" contribution to peace.

Senator Wong said, "September is that time".

Australia's recognition of Palestine would not immediately shift its legal standing.

But it would mark a historic moment for Australia to add its voice to international calls for recognition, and build pressure on Israel and the United States to find a pathway towards recognition.

"This is a practical contribution towards building momentum," Mr Albanese said.

"This is not Australia acting alone. What we are seeing is a range of countries engaging in detailed dialogue … behind the scenes, if you like, about what peace looks like in the region."

The Palestinian Authority's President Mahmoud Abbas told Anthony Albanese last week that Australia could play an "important" role as a diplomatic middle power by recognising Palestine.

So that’s 4 western countries now (and possibly New Zealand according to their Foreign Minister today) who have signalled a potential diplomatic shift towards Palestine. Keeping in mind the US can and has vetoed Palestine’s admission to the UN before.

And of course all the western states including Australia are still framing this as a “Hamas evil, we want peace by working with the genocidal fascists” and will only recognize Palestine under the condition that Hamas plays “no role in its future governance”. The Palestinian Authority is still committed to demilitarizing (aka complete defanging of any armed resistance) and recognising “Israel’s right to exist” while the West Bank is still occupied.

🟡🟢 Highlights from Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sheikh Naeem Qassem's speech during the memorial ceremony organized in honor of the martyr commander Mohammad Saeed Izadi “Hajj Ramadan”: — Hajj Ramadan was the Iranian martyr of Palestine who dedicated his life to serving the Palestinian cause. He held a sensitive leadership position at the age of 19 and worked within the Palestine file, which coordinated with Palestinian factions. He once said that “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood is a miracle no resistance force had ever achieved,” and that Al-Aqsa and Al-Quds elevate those who serve them. He adopted Imam Khomeini’s view of the zionist entity as a cancerous tumor and believed, as our leaders do, that Palestine is a humanitarian cause, not just a geographical issue—one that everyone must support.

Hajj Ramadan arrived in Lebanon two days after the martyrdom of Sayyed Nasrallah to place himself at the disposal of Hezbollah. He was a spiritual, humble, and dignified man, deeply devoted to Imam Khomeini and Imam Khamenei. The Beirut port explosion on August 4 was a catastrophe that left a deep wound in Lebanon. We call for an expedited, depoliticized investigation and trial process, as politicization has delayed justice. To rebuild Lebanon and secure stability, we must cooperate under national unity, set priorities for the country’s foundation, and reject any form of U.S. or foreign tutelage.

The ceasefire agreement was an indirect one, showcasing tight cooperation between the resistance and the state—one of the highest forms of collaboration. The resistance facilitated all the required procedures without delay. Hezbollah fully adhered to the ceasefire terms and did not violate any clause against the enemy or in coordination with the state. “Israel” violated the agreement thousands of times, regretted it, and considered it to have granted Hezbollah too much staying power—hence its non-compliance.

The Prime Minister proudly cites the government’s commitment to liberating occupied land from the occupation, but where are these measures? The state should protect its people, not strip them and their resistance of strength. It should benefit from this power, not dismantle it to appease “israel,” the U.S., or certain Arab states. We must take this to the Cabinet, put forth a defense strategy, set a timetable, and discuss how to involve everyone in defending Lebanon and increasing pressure on the enemy.

During the Battle of The Mighty Ones, we managed to halt the aggression; otherwise, it would have reached Beirut. The resistance, army, and people denied the enemy its goals. The resistance is strong, proud, faithful, and determined to remain sovereign in its homeland. Lebanon will remain proud, independent, and resilient. Its people are steadfast, and its fighters are ready to make the ultimate sacrifice.

The resistance is comprised of parties, forces, and individuals from all sects and beliefs. This is its true strength. Our enemy has not had a free hand and has yet to achieve its objectives—do not allow it to. Tell those pressuring you: “Go speak to the resistance”—we’ll handle them. We are steadfast in this phase and will rise above it with heads held high. Know that the resistance, army, and people will remain on the battlefield—and they will triumph. Lebanon’s stability comes from all its children, not one faction at the expense of another.

In today’s battle, either all of Lebanon wins, or all lose. We believe we can win together. We must be alert to the attempts by defeatists and agents of discord to exploit the situation for foreign interests. The aggression is the problem—not the weapons. Solve the aggression, then let’s discuss the weapons. The solution lies in building strength, not surrendering it, and in relying on the honorable, not the American wolf. We must be lions, not lambs to be devoured. We will face foreign tutelage, U.S.-Arab bullying, and domestic intimidation. This is a dangerous stage in Lebanon’s path to independence, but we are stronger—through the army, the people, the resistance, and our unity.

New Epstein Mansion Photos Reveal Ties to Trump and Other Figures - Telesur English

Article

Among the newly published images are photos showing Epstein with former President Clinton and billionaire Branson. On Tuesday, The New York Times published an article featuring several items that once decorated Jeffrey Epstein’s Manhattan mansion. Among them were photographs of Epstein with powerful political figures, paintings of nude women, and a map of Israel.

The newspaper released never-before-seen images from the financier’s residence. Epstein, who was accused of sex trafficking of minors, died by suicide in prison in 2019. His connections to global elites are once again under scrutiny during President Donald Trump’s second term.

Among the newly published images is a portrait of Epstein posing with Trump and Melania, as well as other photos showing him with former President Bill Clinton, billionaire Richard Branson, and Pope John Paul II.

In one massage room, paintings of nude women adorned the walls alongside shelves stocked with lubricants. According to investigators, Epstein instructed young women to give him massages while naked, and in some cases, assaulted orremovedd them.

Other eccentric items captured in the photographs include a first edition of Vladimir Nabokov’s novel Lolita, a map of Israel drawn on a whiteboard and signed by former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, a taxidermized tiger, dozens of prosthetic eyeballs, and a sculpture of a bride climbing a rope.

In addition to the photographs, the New York Times also obtained letters addressed to Epstein for his 50th birthday in 2003—some of which had already been made public—as well as letters from 2016, including one from filmmaker Woody Allen. In it, Allen describes “young women” serving food and compares Epstein’s home to Dracula’s castle.

The Trump administration faces mounting pressure to clarify Epstein’s case after the Department of Justice and FBI announced on July 7 that Epstein did not maintain a list of high-profile clients he allegedly provided minors to, and that he had, in fact, died by suicide—contradicting a conspiracy theory popular among Trump supporters.

Dispute over island in the Amazon River escalates, prompting Colombia and Peru to deploy military forces to the border.

Colombia accuses Peru of appropriating an island in the triple border area. In July, Peru created a municipality in an area that includes the island, formed from sedimentation in the Amazon River. This week, Colombian President Gustavo Petro and representatives of the Peruvian government visited the region to demonstrate their strength.

In protest against threats made by Colombian President Gustavo Petro, the Peruvian government deployed military personnel to the island of Santa Rosa, a territory in the Amazonian triple border between Brazil, Peru, and Colombia.

The Colombian Armed Forces also reinforced the military presence in Leticia, the Colombian city in the region that is located practically opposite the island of Santa Rosa. Amid the escalating dispute, Petro took a stand and traveled to Leticia on Thursday, where he transferred a celebration of Colombia's victory in a battle against Spain that originally takes place in a city more than 1,000 kilometers away.

On the same day, Peruvian Prime Minister Eduardo Arana and some of his ministers visited the region. And the Peruvian press reported an alleged overflight of Colombian military aircraft in Peruvian airspace.

For years, the Peruvian media has been reporting that people living in that part of Peru are so neglected by the Peruvian government that they want to become Brazilian or Colombian citizens. This is because in order to do or buy anything they need, from healthcare to food and drinking water, they have to cross the river to Santa Rosa in Brazil or Leticia in Colombia. In that part of Peru, they use the Brazilian real more than the Peruvian sol.
