  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

Move is latest in series of dismissals as Trump and allies seek retribution against civil servants in the agency

The US attorney general, Pam Bondi, fired the justice department’s top ethics adviser on Friday, the latest in a series of dismissals that comes as Donald Trump and allies have sought retribution against civil servants in the agency.

Joseph Tirrell, who had served as the head of the justice department’s ethics office, since 2023, revealed he had been fired in a post on LinkedIn. He shared Bondi’s letter to him, which misspelled his name and did not give a reason for his termination.

Well who needs an ethics advisor when you have no ethics.

Good, i didn't think they approve of people sharing their termination letters.

There should be a website, where everyone, terminated since Trump took office, can upload their letter. Just to have the mass of terminations and the bleak contents of the letters all in one place.

Having it all categorized by department, could probably expose the systematic erasure of everyone possibly opposing the King in the future.

But who will advise them as to whether something is sufficiently unethical?

Because the emperor is perfection itself, all actions taken by His Gloriousness are perfect as well, and therefore ethical, moral, and Very Cool. This obviously eliminates any need for an ethicist.

He is going to say the Nixon quote but dumbed down, it's just a matter of time

"I'm president, so I get to decide what's allowed (legal)"

Under this administration, an ethics advisor is a clear case of government waste.

Why would they need an ethics advisor when they already ignore the constitution and the rule of law?
