I love how 30 year old gamers are the new welfare queens.

All those ghost jobs that corpos put up to make it seem like it's the youngs that are lazy!

Nothing shatters the narrative of things need to be worked for, when businesses have all been all set since 2008 and now with advances in AI.

Like, I have no idea what to even do anymore with my life it’s that bad. I’d love to explore possible interests but I have no idea if I can get a job in it. And I need to pick one thing because your job is literally the only thing you do and nothing else.

Can't get work with the government anymore that's for damn sure.

Asmongold chat in shambles

[–] Beaver@hexbear.net 25 points 1 month ago

They targeted gamers.

Gamers.

But that's not what they voted for!

please-save-me seeing the boomerang killing the people they hate: haha yes yes!!

Also please-save-me when the boomerang arcs back towards them: wtf this sucks!

They're still angry at neurodivergent adults who do not work full time in the old-fashioned borderline-slavery works of today because they got their mental and physical conditions, but could be wildly productive (and happier) if only institutions put less obstacles and more flexibility for them to work on their special interests' fields.

But no, billionaires, keep trying to put neurodivergents into offices and call-centers (in my region) instead of focusing on their talents. 21st century capitalism is not only exploitative but dumb.

Why put you in a position that plays off what you're good at and meets your needs when we can pimp you out like chattel labor?

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 7 points 1 month ago

I’d argue it’s worse.

I’m neurodivergent and I’m begging porky to notice me and finally put me to work, but the porks are extremely picky these days.

I can’t even get an entry level job because porks can just pick one of the many highly experienced perfect candidates he has to choose from. I can’t even get noticed.

you would think Steve would be more afraid or upsetting people that play FPS games for 12 hours a day...

I'm a 30 year old living at my parents house who recently got a job, in public service no less, and I can't afford rent. very cool!

not a gamer though so I've got that going for me

they really think they are going to time all these horrible policies to recreate the industrial revolution or something

"get out of the basement and go down the street to the new fully automated textile mill to be one of 3 people that works there, for $8 an hour"

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 15 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It's simple logic: The industrial revolution was an abysmal time for the working class, therefore, they recreate those same abysmal conditions and they'll recreate the same rapid expansion of industry!

[–] huf@hexbear.net 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

my god, cargo cult industrial revolution...

[–] Des@hexbear.net 3 points 1 month ago

it's all cargo cults, all the way down (at least among the ruling class)

it's actually kind of scary to see us going full warhammer 40k imperium this quickly, within living memory, like a short-cut was found through alienation

Aren't loser dudes a core GOP constituency?

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 8 points 1 month ago

I'd argue 18-45 year old groypers are the youth wing of the gop's white supremacy base with the majority being shitty boomers.
