I had something similar for my Game Boy, but it had a built-in magnifier as well. It made the thing top-heavy, so my hands got tired pretty quickly.

Rookie mistake. The answer to that isn't to remove the accessory, but to add EVEN MORE accessories so it balances itself out.
The GBA SP could not arrive soon enough. Idk how the hell we survived so long on those dim ass screens. Playing outside in broad daylight was the only option.
I found the best experience with my GBA was simply to use it in a dark room with my MadKatz purple clip light
