I can't imagine a company I would trust less to design autonomous taxis.

I can't wait to be run over and killed by one of these things, only for my family to be told it was my fault for walking on the sidewalks.

It's the same as with AI in general: people can't wait to let it loose on the populace, however flawed it is.

Of course immediate physical danger is more important, but AI's dangers are very real, too.

And some people, deeming themselves realistic, say it's almost there but I say no. The idea that machines can become actually intelligent firmly belongs in fiction. And our roads have been designed for intelligent actors for centuries, merely "improving pattern recognition" is not going to cut it.

Fuck all technobros who push this stuff like its a major revelation for humanity.

Oh boy I can't wait for the lawsuits. This is going to be great. Well I mean not the kids getting hurt part. The Tesla getting annihilated part.

Now is a good time to invest in caltrops

not so fast.. i heard they're just gonna move the bodies around to create a sort of braille for the blind. it'll also sound like the star spangled banner when you drive over it.

The Tesla robotaxi rollout will be fun to watch. From a distance.

I'm totally ignorant about these robotaxis. Are they at least painted with warning colors so we can get out of the way ?

Fortune reports, they're testing them with employees taking the rides right now, and they're just plain old Model Ys.

Ah, it’s a use for stock they can’t load off on anyone else. Now it makes sense.

I 💯% agree w/you about Tesla’s. I don’t trust a self-driven car. I live 1/2 mile from Tesla’s distribution center. I think that weird Tesla “Jetson” car is kinda ugly. Did you know that Elon Musk names his cars w/letters that spell out S3XY? I know, leave it to him to think up something like that. He couldn’t use the letter E bc Ford Motors blocked him so he used the number 3.
