the lol was in reply to this comment:

I don’t understand how previously sane Republicans can back this destruction of our democracy…

The mod of that com is one of my favourite lemmy posters. He used to make Garfield edits where Garfield calls the dems fascists for supporting genocide. And he reacts extremely funny to libs who get angry at his edits.

Edit: I misremembered, but it’s still funny: https://hexbear.net/post/3412654

Libs really have no arguments against statements like that, do they? All they can do is attack the character of the person making it, or make wild non-sequitur claims.

[–] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 24 points 9 months ago (2 children)

Libs didn't generally even try to argue against it around election time.

”Kamala supports Israel's genocide.”

”Yeah, but Trump would be worse!”

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 19 points 9 months ago

Yeah, I remember that. Or the classic "Russian bot" excuse, which is on full display here as well.

It's funny watching them claim to be the adults in the room while literally behaving like toddlers. not-listening

Now that Trump is doing all of the things Holocaust Harris would do but mask off, now they're all "See? I told you!"

Now that I've gone through their post history, it looks like they're doing a bit and I fell for it.

lmao @ the mod abuse hotline comm, we need one of these (a comm where one mod just makes 'i've been banned??' posts as a bit. I suggest Chris Redfield)

no self-crit is the hog going to the butcher looking for truffles, mod abuse hotline would be the butcher pretending to be a hog. (YES I'LL SAY IT, being a mod is anti-vegan)

Is that first one proof Ken M is a poster?

Most of my modlog entries for people I ban are just "loser"

Abbreviations are against the code of conduct? cat-confused

[–] Beetle@hexbear.net 11 points 9 months ago (2 children)

I think that mod got banned from some .world news community for arbitrary reasons and decided to make his own community with arbitrary rules to ban people as a social commentary

[–] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 8 points 9 months ago

I admire the commitment to the bit, in that case.

What a sane and mature reaction, lol.

Maybe it wasn't an abbreviation and was a ASCII picture of "raising the roof"...
