Canada didn’t kick him out, he left willingly like a fly attracted to shit.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 32 points 2 weeks ago (6 children)

Yep he moved to Florida

Canadian Psychologist Dr. Jordan Peterson has made it official, announcing on his daughter’s podcast that he has moved to the free state of Florida.

"the free state of Florida"? Is this like a secessionist thing?

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 17 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

I think he's saying that it's free compared to Canada? Not sure, the dude is a drug addict. Also, I can't wait to see how he likes Florida compared to Canada's social services. It's going to be fun.

he was formally on benzodiazapenes, he got addicted, then he decided he would go to russia to get unsanction care to deal with his withdrawals, and the coma caused brain damage.

Look on the bright side, that means he's one step closer to dying in a Salvadoran labor camp

[–] dohpaz42@lemmy.world 33 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

He’s too rich, white, and willing to promote their agenda to be sent to an El Salvador prison camp.

[–] roguetrick@lemmy.world 22 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Give it time. Purging their own quickly becomes a priority.

If fascism in the us manages to fester into its next form I can easily see this scenario playing out. Jordan is just enough of an ideologue to ruffle the feathers of the wrong idiot with power.

[–] Photuris@lemmy.ml 12 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

Ironic, since he’s long been obsessed with the dangers of falling into the tyranny of left-wing authoritarianism.

So he willingly runs into the arms of right-wing authoritarianism.

At the end of the day, authoritarianism all looks fairly alike in practice. So he may get to experience a taste what he’s long feared (just the Nazi variety, not the Communist variety). So it’s almost like a self-fulfilling prophecy, attracting what you most fear and all that.

Look, maybe Canada has warts. Maybe I don’t like the idea of being forced to use pronouns or whatever, I dunno. But that “woke” stuff is far better than the darkness that’s brewing here in the US, especially here in the South. People are embracing Fascism, full-throated, here. I want out. I’d happily trade places with Dr. Peterson and move my family to Canada.

People friendly with the regime are in no way safe from being punished by the regime. That's exactly the outcome of tearing down due process.

This type of person thinks it will be fine because they didn't do anything wrong, even when they're watching people who didn't do anything wrong suffer or die. It comes from growing up in an environment that has a lot of justice and fairness, and so you think it's built into the world somehow, like gravity. It isn't.

[–] Unpigged@lemmy.dbzer0.com 54 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Cool, now ICE him the fuck out into El Salvador or something

[–] flambonkscious@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I would pay to see the, but he's probably the wrong colour

[–] Enkrod@feddit.org 49 points 2 weeks ago

First the election and now this, Canada can't stop winning

[–] Letstakealook@lemm.ee 39 points 2 weeks ago (5 children)

Germany, Australia, South Africa, and now Canada? Can we not be the world's foremost collector of shitheads, please?

[–] Zaktor@sopuli.xyz 20 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I think that depends on us stopping being such a sweet place for shitheads to do their thing.

[–] Letstakealook@lemm.ee 6 points 2 weeks ago

That's why they call them dreams, unfortunately.

It's okay, on the whole he's not really going to make things any worse over here, rather that you'd all be rid of him. Maybe he'll even get burned up in this dumpster fire....

As a Canadian, I say "good riddance". The yokels can keep the piece of shit.

[–] PillowD@lemmy.world 24 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

A typical JP argument

Me: Grass is green.

Jordan Peterson: Define green.

[–] kralk@lemm.ee 11 points 2 weeks ago

I read the first two pages of the communist manifesto and it didn't mention grass, therefore Marxism is a failed doctrine
