Tell me more about your fantasies Julianne Moore

Stone cold fox that always takes smart roles, she could - ahem. Excuse me.

[–] Dagwood222@lemm.ee 33 points 1 year ago (4 children)

Well, Maude was supposedly impregnated by the Dude. The movie takes place in 1991, so the Little Lebowski would be about 35 now.

How about a movie where Aubrey Plaza is the kid, searching for her dad? I can see Julianne and Plaza as mother/daugter.

We don't know if she was pregnant, but she had a good doctor, and thorough.

[–] Dagwood222@lemm.ee 8 points 1 year ago (2 children)

iirc The Narrator [Sam Elliot] says that she was pregnant.

[–] neukenindekeuken@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He did. He alluded to a "Little" Lebowski being on its way.

[–] Dagwood222@lemm.ee 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Well, there you go.

Also, a quick check shows that Sam Elliot is still active.

Oh man Val Kilmer just died, don't make me have to watch Tombstone again

[–] Dagwood222@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I watched the underrated 'The Saint' after Kilmer passed.

[–] A_Union_of_Kobolds@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Oooh good one, I haven't seen that in ages.

Heat 2 is a prequel/sequel novel that tells how DeNiro and Kilmer met, and what happens to Kilmer after the bank heist goes wrong. Written by the director

Jumping in here on the Kilmer love train to say if you haven't yet, Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, is some of his and RDJ's finest work imo. Shane black wrote/directed it.

I watch it annually at this point.

Miss Kilmer. Tombstone was probably his best role of all time, no doubt, but man he's been so good in almost everything he's done.

[–] Dagwood222@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This is pretty funny.

I had to go back and read all the comments to figure out how we went from Lebowski to Val Kilmer. As always, you can blame that bastard Sam Elliot for derailing the conversation.

haha. The man is a national treasure. We don't have too many of those left it seems.

[–] Cyclist@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Yes, I believe you are correct.

Which actresses do you think look like a young Bridges/Moore child?

Probably better to go with an unknown.

[–] rob_t_firefly@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The movie takes place in 1990 or 1991, but was released in 1998. If they made another one now they could place it seven or eight years ago again, and have the Little Lebowski still in their 20s.

[–] Dagwood222@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

I can see Maude promising to let the child know who the father is on their 21st birthday.

I realized after I posted that they can set it in any year and make the kid any age. Moore and Bridges can both play younger.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

No, man, she hit me right here

[–] Stillwater@sh.itjust.works 40 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] three@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

They probably will, but we don't have to watch it. I refuse to accept the existence of the Super Troopers, Anchorman, Zoolander etc sequels.

From the article:

He added, though, he thought the prospect of the Coens wanting to return to the subject matter was unlikely:

“I don’t think the brothers are going to do that. I don’t think that’s their style. But I must say, they surprise us all the time… If they called me up and said, ‘Hey let’s do it again,’ I’d say, ‘Absolutely, come on.’”

I also feel like the Coens are probably not up for unnecessary sequels. But unfortunately there are some people who engage in filmmaking compulsively and without joy.

[–] CallateCoyote@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

If the Coens returned to do a sequel, I would trust they have a good reason and be excited... but I think it's like Bridges says. Not gonna happen. That's perfectly good with me.
