I specifically remember canceling a few months ago but they decided to just charge me for another year anyways. It's a total mystery to me.

There was a time in the long ago times when it was a really good, customer focused service that didn't have all of the issues it has today. It then of course got worse every year like everything else but now many people use it out of habit or addiction.

Yeah, I think the main thing that makes intermittent fasting effective is exactly this. I don’t believe that there’s anything magical about eating in a time window in itself but not taking in those extra little snacks that all add up is big.

Hah, same. Made an account awhile ago and this made me check to see how things are going in Lemmy land.

Dang, that’s quite a few people. Maybe we can stop linking our identity to a simple number in the US sometime? That would be swell.

I pay for Premium now since it includes music streaming which is convenient to use. If they raise the price too much, I'll absolutely just go back to mp3s and deal with the ads on YouTube and just watch less content on there. $15 is about my cap before I do that.

I try explaining this to fellow Americans that you end up paying much less in the end and never have the stress of how you're going to afford this stuff (or possibly even lose everything to a sudden health problem) but it falls on deaf ears if they've already been brainwashed. They refuse to hear that other countries have things figured out to make the lives of their citizens much more enjoyable.

Only been here a day but the main thing I’ve noticed so far is that the user base reminds me of the old days of Digg and Reddit. Nobody downvoting comments for no good reason, nobody being needlessly hostile or starting shit. I’ll enjoy it while it lasts.

This is one of my biggest fears in life. Bugs creep me the hell out, I already have sleeping troubles, and I know I’d be wrecked by little bastards biting me in bed.

I can’t believe nobody has come up with a simple solution to this yet.

I find that I use it pretty much every day for one thing or another, so mine has earned permanent counter residence. I’ll probably buy a much fancier one when this one kicks the bucket.

One of my life purposes is converting people to The Way of Bidet. I have bought over a dozen as gifts for people and pretty much anybody who is actually willing to install it and try it loves it and hopefully converts others in turn. Clearly superior to wiping in terms of hygiene, saving money on TP, and not irritating the bum.

Yeah, gotta kind of see if Lemmy catches on before investing that kind of money. I'd be much more likely to toss them $20 or something more reasonable

It does feel nice feeling home again after years of using Sync though. That official Reddit app is so clumsy.
