He definitely lies and has cheated (in games), I don't know about any other allegations.

I felt 100% sure that he was but I can't actually find any information actually proving that at the moment. Wondering if maybe I just assumed he was 'cause he's at the intersection of every fascist influence of the US: cheater, small business owner, '80s nostalgia freak, wears a US flag tie and puts USA as his highscore input, white guy (Italian?)

The King Of Kong documentary definitely makes him seem like he cheated in DK using footage taped on an emulator, so I'm assuming at least some of the later accusations are true. It's also true that he is actually good at these games at a near-top level because he's done either real highscores or at least ones close to them in front of live audiences. But he likely cheats on top of that to maintain some of his records out of pettiness and shit.
There's a definite thing in speedrunning/high score competition where once you've been at or near the top the temptation to cheat gets a hundred times stronger. It's a combination of feeling like you're owed because of how much work you've put in, not wanting to give up your spot to the new person climbing the rankings, and in some cases the need to maintain your top spot in order to keep getting speaking engagements and other forms of income. Billy has almost certainly felt the pressure from all three of those factors.
So wild to see that Billy Mitchell is the reasonable one here. I guess the dude is a con artist, grifter and a cheat, but he is at least anti-fascist. Sad that I'm surprised to see someone clear that incredibly low bar.
I read online that the other speedrunner dude that he sued, Apollo Legend, was a Nazi too. Just crazy how shitty the speedrun meta-YouTubers are. Especially in contrast to how good GDQ is with masking, anti-ableism, etc.
I watch a lot of speedrun content on youtube, guys like SummoningSalt and Bismuth mostly. I hope those guys aren't secretly fascist pieces of shit too.

It's not really them being braindead, it's them trying to normalise their own toxic beliefs and behaviour as "just another way of doing things." if calling someone a nazi is treated the same way as calling someone a racial slur, nazis can get away with a lot more toxic shit.
I don't know much about Mitchell but I've heard that Jobst dude is a former pick-up artist and a nazi who lost a lot of money to him in a lawsuit which, lol get fucked.
