Starting area is a bit more west and also extends more to the south. Although my first playthrough i did get transported to a dungeon in Caelid by a very normal looking chest at about level 10 lol.
Soulslike - Discussion, News, Memes
This is a community for discussion, news, and memes pertaining to the video game sub-genre "soulslike".
Given Lemmy's size, the definition of soulslike may be treated relatively loosely. While games like the numerous FromSoft titles, the recent Star Wars Jedi games, Lies of P, Nioh and similar games should be the focus, games that incorporate soulslike elements - like Hollow Knight and Blasphemous, for example - may also be discussed here.
Basic Lemmy-quette applies. Additionally, since flairs don't exist yet, please do make sure to include a marker to denote what game your post is about in square brackets for clarity's sake. An example could be:
[BB] This enemy is so difficult!
or
[DS1] Anyone struggling with the gargoyles?

Ok, so the guide says this chest has the twinblade…where did i get transported to?..why is this house centipede shooting arrows at me!.!?
That was my first experience with caelid lol
Best decision on that chest they could have made. Trolling guide followers in the first moments of a game is glorious. Also, fuck that mine. I think 10% of all my deaths came from trying to get out of that place when I was still new to elden ring and souls-like games in general.
It’s been a very long time since I’ve played—why can’t you just die to get out of that mine?
I believe you have to touch a grace to escape. Otherwise you just respawn at the teleport spot.
That makes sense! I remember struggling greatly trying to get out there as well, but now I was thinking “why didn’t I just die and respawn at my last grace?
That’s why, I suppose hahaha
First moment? ER was my first soulslike and it was hours and hours into the game. Great troll though, I do have to admit.
ER was my first fromsoftware game, and somehow I managed to trigger the trap in the first 20 minutes of playing. I was also stubborn as hell and pissed off at my friends who were all veterans of dark souls, so I was going to show them what for by killing that entire dungeon without looking up how to leave...
Well I am really proficient at fighting the centipedes and stone bull scorpions now.
Yeah they just happen to be next to each other.
Me, who somehow ended up fighting Loretta as my second boss:
That isnt the starting area.
