Well if you don't want to hear about my furry art, you can instead read my novel length GNU / Linux diary from the past year. I'm sure you'll be overjoyed.

Actually I'd like to get a peek at that...

I'm at work atm but I'll send over a link once I get home, editing this message. I thought as someone with no experience who is not a developer, that my perspective would be interesting to write down at the time. Honestly I think it ended up showing off how I've changed over time and have been climbing farther up the freedom ladder. You'll see how my tolerance for proprietary stuff of any kind shifts, how I work around my new environment, and try to solve problems.

Edit: Here's the diary! I have a few more entries to write into March, but here it is at the 1 year mark!

Not sure if it's just me, but that link just gives me a blank, grey page

I have no issues on PC or mobile, just checked now. It's possible your ISP or an antivirus is blocking access to the domain. You could try using a VPN or Tor, or temporarily disabling your antivirus if applicable. I'd prefer not sending you to Google Drive or some other megacorp. I could also send it directly to an email address as an attachment if you're still having trouble. It's just a PDF.

It loads fine for me on iOS using a VPN. Thank you for sharing this! I’ll be switching to Pop! eventually here on some of my machines… except my main game machines cuz I need Windows for ONE SPECIFIC OLD ASS GAME.

Well, if you don't want me to talk about furry stuff, that leaves us with... looks at notes: depression, anxiety oh no self-doubt, regret oh no no no insecurities, broken dreams, loneliness, a million abandoned hobbies soo... have you ever played any Mario games?

Art by Artmanhadrawing, source unavailable.

Seriously though, it sounds like things are really, really bad for you right now. I hope that even as the world is literally and metaphorically on fire things are able to get better for you.

I know it's a premade meme, but someone calling me a friend feels so nice. Things have slowly been going downhill for a few years now, and being in the middle of my final exams doesn't help either. After tomorrow, I'll only need to take two more oral exams, and as scary as they are, once they're over, I'll hopefully be able to slow down and breathe for a few days. I've been telling myself that exact same thing for two years ("just a little longer, then I'll have time to take a break"), but this time, I'm confident that I'll be able to take that break.

Thank you for your kind words, thank you for being nice, and thank you for some awesome memes <3

Best of luck.

I’ll hopefully be able to slow down and breathe for a few days. I’ve been telling myself that exact same thing for two years (“just a little longer, then I’ll have time to take a break”), but this time, I’m confident that I’ll be able to take that break.

I find that taking breaks allows me to work more efficiently than if I had to work solid, at least in the long run. It is understandable needing to crunch when work is overwhelming but try to relax and recharge if you are able to. Do not feel guilty when taking breaks, especially when you really need them.

Another thing that is helpful is to actually move around, recently the snow has cleared enough around here for me to start biking to work again and it has dramatically improved my mood. It can be difficult to find time if active transport is not practical but trust me, it really helps.

Feel free to direct message me if you need someone to talk to.
