How am I supposed to imagine a clothed pig splicing fiber cables or setting up a rack full of communications equipment with fiber patches. They don't even have opposable thumbs, how can they unplug an LC plug with its retention clip?

If my job isn't real I'm taking the internet down with me, then he can read his hand drawn memes to his neighbor.

Take the Internet. We'll be fine.

Don't worry guys, it's human meat so it's not weird.

[–] jsomae@lemmy.ml 2 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago)

[–] Xtallll@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Pig in a cute sweater planing war crimes.

[–] Obi@sopuli.xyz 1 points 13 hours ago

This looks nice.

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 5 points 15 hours ago

I dare you to find a job that can't be portrayed like that.

Hacker Pig? sure!

Neo matrix Pig? Sure

Politician? Almost indistinguishable

Holywood Director Pig? Nearly by default

Slaughterhouse Pig... NGL, that hits different, but still, I can see that.

[–] haui_lemmy@lemmy.giftedmc.com 15 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Am I missing the obvious sarcasm that is somehow not mentioned? as in this pig is an obvious CLASS TRAITOR for being a pig that sells parts of (presumably) other pigs?

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 6 points 20 hours ago

It's allll beef, no pig :)

[–] MonkderVierte@lemmy.ml 13 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago) (1 children)

+

Edit: huh, the '+' did do what i intended but didn't believe it would work.

[–] Dicska@lemmy.world 4 points 20 hours ago

You can't convince me the pig in the third pic isn't Winne the 🇨🇳 Pooh.

[–] Maggoty@lemmy.world 33 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Isn't there a very famous children's story about a pig that is more equal than the other pigs?

[–] aeshna_cyanea@lemm.ee 9 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

I wouldn't exactly call it a children's story

[–] Maggoty@lemmy.world 2 points 18 hours ago

My school had me read it when I was a kid.

[–] devils_advocate@sh.itjust.works 2 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

I think you could read it to children.

[–] KairuByte@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

You can read anything to children…

[–] Maggoty@lemmy.world 1 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

I once saw someone read a Metallica song to their kid as a bedtime story.

[–] superkret@feddit.org 2 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Hush little baby, Don't say a word...

[–] Zink@programming.dev 3 points 14 hours ago

And never mind that, fire baaaaad!

[–] milicent_bystandr@lemm.ee 6 points 1 day ago

Four legs good

Two legs ~~bad~~ better

[–] bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de 8 points 1 day ago

Now I'm imagining a pig wearing programming socks.

[–] muelltonne@feddit.org 132 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I could totally imagine a clothed pig sitting in front of a computer

[–] antonim@lemmy.dbzer0.com 28 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Literally me (to be fair I'm not always clothed).

[–] chaogomu@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

A pig wearing a shirt and tie, but no pants.

[–] rambling_lunatic@sh.itjust.works 2 points 21 hours ago

So the average cartoon character

[–] stebo02@lemmy.dbzer0.com 34 points 1 day ago (2 children)

So a billionaire is a real job now? I don't even have to imagine a billionaire being a pig, they all already are!

[–] RandomVideos@programming.dev 11 points 1 day ago (2 children)

But imagine them in a childrens book doing their job

That is the hard ppart

[–] stebo02@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 1 day ago (2 children)

This is just a stock image but it's not hard to imagine it being in a children's story. Besides, Scrooge McDuck is an existing character in a children's story that is a billionaire as a duck.

[–] nandeEbisu@lemmy.world 1 points 14 hours ago

At least Scrooge McDuck isn't portrayed as having a healthy relationship with wealth.

[–] RandomVideos@programming.dev 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

But in this photo, they are throwing money, not doing their job

[–] stebo02@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

their "job" is literally none other than being rich

throwing money is part of that

the other part is swimming in a pool of money

[–] RandomVideos@programming.dev 5 points 1 day ago

Swimming in a pool of and throwing money arent jobs, they are hobbies

If they dont do anything other than that, they are jobless

Being billionaire is not a job.

[–] stebo02@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

that's what I'm saying, but a pig could be it in a children's story

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 1 points 16 hours ago

All squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares.

In this hypothetical situation, if you can't imagine a fanciful depiction of a pig doing it, then it isn't a job. But the opposite isn't necessarily true. Just because you can imagine a fanciful depiction of a pig doing it doesn't necessarily mean it is a job, just that it could be.

There is a job that can be represented without any clothes at all.

[–] sangriaferret@sh.itjust.works 14 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Does a muppet count?

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 11 points 1 day ago

Ah, the pig is preparing soylent oligarch-green, a most sustainable job, I applaud you, pig.

[–] Actionschnils@feddit.org 6 points 1 day ago (2 children)
[–] Snowclone@lemmy.world 1 points 14 hours ago

The whole term sprung up when founding black panthers were studying police methodologies and found a precinct that used a pig as a mascot.

[–] Tja@programming.dev 1 points 20 hours ago

Already pigs.

[–] protonslive@lemm.ee 10 points 1 day ago

A pig could sit in front of a computer in those books right? Right?!
