Pretty much all my media feeds right now are just people complaining about how awful their family is. Mine is pretty awful too and I'm planning on cutting off contact once I have the money too.

So why the fuck does anyone do this? Why lock yourself into a lifetime relationship with people you're most likely going to resent? I don't get it.

My wife and kid are great. And they put up with me. Wouldn't have it any other way.

i suppose you won't be able to understand it until you get to experience something good about it.

people don't tend to post on social media if their life is going really great. most people post to complain or to pretend it's great.

People don't want to hear someone saying how good their life is either. My life has had ups and downs, but I'm pretty happy; although it takes constant work.

It's called people doing shit because they believe that they are obliged to

It sucks, mainly because that's the exact environment that breeds resentment instead of genuine emotional attachment

Would rather live in a big house with most of you fine folks than ever settle down with the first person I ever got to third base with

I always thought it was something people around my age (30+) experienced with their boomer parents. So I'm surprised younger people too don't get along with their families.
