I don't think I've seen a more blatant example of main character syndrome than seeing real estate agents putting themselves into videos showing the house they're selling.

And I don't mean talking about the house. They're in the video sitting on the couch or opening the door to enter with all this dramatic music playing, or staring out from the balcony all reflective and stuff.

Good lord.

They also wear shitty suits.

[-] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago

Their tailors hate them too

[-] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago

Tailors? You mean Tarocash and Peter Jacksons salespeople.

Doxxing capacity maximised... ๐Ÿ‘€ beautiful part of Melbourne to be in though that's for sure.

[-] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago

Now I'm getting images of a masked bandit digging up my clivias at 3am.

GP check up and blood test results said plenty of sunshine, a nice fat piece of steak, and steroid cream

[-] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago

I do bloods every 6 months, and the August one always show I'm low in Vitamin D....which is probably 90% of Melbourne I assume

[-] bacon@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago

my ferritin is 20 and my vitamin D is 28 ๐Ÿง›๐Ÿป

Probably having my final assessment for my new role today, to see if they'll set me loose on the general public. Has been three weeks training so far. I am exhausted. I've been up since 2.30 tossing and turning stressing about it, picturing scenarios in my head etc. I'll get other chances if I don't pass but would be nice to rip the band aid off

[-] Eagle@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago

May the band aid be not sticky anymore and come off with ease.

So there's three people in my team. The good one is leaving. Which leaves the one who is honestly like dealing with a child.

Ah well.

My performance review went great though!

Haven't had the heart to tell my supervisor at this job that I'm seriously mentally struggling atm. I'm off for a week from Friday night so I feel like I should see how I go with that before I go any further. I think I'm going to have to leave one of my jobs and cut down my overall hours to make this work, but it's really bad timing in terms of workload...

[-] just_kitten@aussie.zone 10 points 1 month ago

Tonight's mood booster is some peri peri mock-chicken strips bought on a whim yesterday. I shall throw a zucchini in there for helth, and half an onion, and.. idk. Eat it with rice... cooked in broth! With cloves and cardamom! (I highly recommend the latter for really elevating even the simplest rice dish.)

Also just remembered I stress-bought frozen dumplings last night. I'm set for lunch tomorrow, woohoo!

Benefit of a person with COVID at home is that I have been told to WFH all week.

some flower pics, it's early spring and most flowers are small but they are nice and bring colour and a promise of warm weather and sun to come ๐Ÿ™‚

Spent a few hours last night on the couch in cosy pyjamas, under a soft blanket, ignoring the world and watching a new (to me) K Drama. Followed by one of the most solid sleeps Iโ€™ve had in a long, long time. Not feeling any better about being at work today, but at least it was a nice evening.

[-] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 7 points 1 month ago

'puter rebuild complete and I didn't break anything and it turns on. Which brings us to the rave. Upon turning it on I honestly thought I'd be watching everything burn right in front of me

I took a short walk yesterday. Thankfully didnโ€™t run into any of the local ferals (half the reason I dont like walking in this area alone) but am absolutely exhausted. Seems I pushed a bit hard.

I saw the ginger ninja but he was skittish and didnโ€™t seem to remember me. :(

Our hard rubbish has been collected this morning. Other suburbs in the same municipality get a rubbish week where everyone puts theirs out for collection, but for some reason in our suburb we have to book twice a year. I hate it, would much prefer a week where everyone does it. Last year someone came and dumped extra stuff on our pile, so the council tried to tell us that because it was over 2 cubic metres (or something) that counted as two collections ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜’

I dragged myself into an Uber to the vet because they had stockโ€ฆ felt like I was gonna puke but bebe has her Fortiflora! Sheโ€™s slurping it up right now.

[-] underwatermagpies@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago

I stepped outside for a few minutes to enjoy the lovely sunshine. I'm now considering surgical removal of my sinuses, possibly with a stanley knife.

Yay spring.

[-] danwritesbooks@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago

One more assignment to do and that's another 2 units down. I wanted to get it done this week but I have to wait for the results of my previous assignment which release on Monday to do it because I need to use the feedback I received.

It gives me one week to get it done. It's only 800 words but I like having assignments done with time to spare...just in case so one week is giving me the twitches.

Well, here's an enigma. Rebuilding old man's desktop and he wants all the connectivity at the front. I said well, you could turn it around but then how would you turn it on. He said well I'm sure office works has something. This is a man of science. Can't win them all.
