One thing’s for sure: JD Vance will be shit on and thrown under the bus.

That’s The Turmp Guarantee!

[-] Ioughttamow@kbin.run 61 points 3 months ago

Will he reuse the last set of vice presidential gallows, or get his own?

[-] Pronell@lemmy.world 17 points 3 months ago

Ooh. That's dark.

[-] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Depends on how he transgresses the unwritten law

[-] nondescripthandle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 43 points 3 months ago

Vance seems like the kind of sleaze that would throw Trump under the bus too. Honestly I think it's gonna come down to who gets the opportunity first. Its like a sith master and apprentice.

Someone needs to Photoshop Vance as Darth Maul with the head spikes and all.

Dang yo

Accurate AF

[-] AFKBRBChocolate@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago

I didn't really know anything about him until recently, but from what I've been reading, that's spot on. He doesn't have principles except whatever is expedient in the moment. He's happy to fellate Trump now, but if there's an opportunity to get more power for himself, he's going to take it, regardless of Trump.

[-] Icalasari@fedia.io 5 points 3 months ago

Oh man please let it be soon. Let the two rip each other and the party apart trying to throw each other under the bus

Yeah 747s are from before Boeing went cost cutting on engineering.

[-] SlowRoastedMadness@lemmy.world 36 points 3 months ago

I'm waiting for the inevitable 'I never even knew the guy'

[-] something_random_tho@lemmy.world 12 points 3 months ago

JD Vance was just a covfefe boy.

[-] Zachariah@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Trump said, “See ya later boy.”

[-] Wrench@lemmy.world 13 points 3 months ago

We can only hope. I'm more wary of the torch being passed on to him. Trump has a limited shelf life, but Vance is young.

And before the wave of "Trump doesn't share power", I know. I'm not talking about what Trump intends, I'm talking about all of Trumps powerful allies who want continued influence after Trump.

Trump will try to neuter Vance, for sure. But I have my doubts that he can pull it off.

[-] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 10 points 3 months ago

What makes trump “work” - the con - on all these moronic shitheads is something Vance does not and will never possess. They may mutate it into some more overt crypto-fascist money cult, but they’ll never get the batshit dialed in to the sweet spot they have at the moment.

Over/under on how long it takes Vance to flip to the prosecution in some as-yet unknown future case against Trump?

[-] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Oh I think he’s already got the fake-tooth-cyanide-capsule implanted. He can never turn, only die.

[-] barsquid@lemmy.world 40 points 3 months ago

Mike Pence is a milquetoast HIV enthusiast with the looks and personality of a Q-Tip but it didn't deter the dimwits in 2016.

[-] IMongoose@lemmy.world 21 points 3 months ago

Conservative Christians / Evangelicals loved Pence. He was a big reason Trump was elected imo. I don't think this new jabroni will help trump like pence did.

[-] barsquid@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago

That's good news, I hope so. They just seem to turn a blind eye to everything.

I’m not sure Trump needs that kind of supporting appeal this time around. He survived an assassination attempt - to his religious followers, that is divine providence.

I believe the new jabroni was chosen for entirely different reasons. There is a significant MAGA uprising going on in Silicon Valley, and Vance is well connected there. This is an inroad previously impassable for republicans…

[-] ChronosTriggerWarning@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Trump picked Pence to shore up the evangelical vote. Vance was chosen to shore up the Nazi vote. Easy peasey.

[-] HawlSera@lemm.ee 34 points 3 months ago

https://vxtwitter.com/JDVance1/status/1511311385543815180 - Seriously look at this campaign ad.

And don't believe his sob story about his mother, I looked into it... She was an RN who kept raiding the controlled substances cabinet, had nothing to do with "Mexicans forcing drugs on her"

[-] fartington@lemm.ee 12 points 3 months ago

Hahaha wtf is this

Are you a racist? Do you hate mexicans?

“Then come join us in the GOP”

[-] HawlSera@lemm.ee 5 points 3 months ago

Basically, like... How the hell did anyone greenlight this? I'm starting to think Vance is the GOP's biggest weakness right now. Ya know his name wasn't always Vance, he actually changed it because he had trauma associated with his previous name due to parental abuse.

And yet he wants to ban transpeople from changing THEIR names....

Hypocrite

Right? I wish all Republican ads were this blatant, I wish they had been back in 2012.. We'd never have been in this situation to begin with.

[-] Delusional@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago

Hahahaha the community notes.

JD Vance’s mother utilized her position as a nurse to steal prescribed medication from her patients, not because of undocumented immigrants.

[-] SoleInvictus@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 3 months ago

I don't even know what to say. It reminds me of the dumbass whitebread fascist version of Sally Struthers hawking "degrees" back in the 90s.

Vance doesn't win any demographic that was lagging for Trump. Anyone who likes Vance was already voting Trump. Strategically on that alone, he's a wasted pick. (I'm not complaining, don't worry)

[-] limelight79@lemm.ee 3 points 3 months ago

I heard somewhere he has connections to money that Trump needs for the campaign, so that might be what drove it.

It's pretty clear Vance previously hated Trump. And it's surprising Trump picked Vance after those comments, but when neither person has a moral compass to stick to, just like the rest of the party, overlooking those kinds of issues becomes much easier.

He has no charisma whatsoever and struggled to get through his speech while talking like a robot.

[-] just_another_person@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago

No, no, no. You simply misunderstood him.

You were supposed to be in a subservient mental coma by the point you actually listen to him speak. Duh.

[-] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 7 points 3 months ago

No headline in the form of this one means shit about what will happen in reality. I don't pay these any mind anymore.

[-] Gingerlegs@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

Here’s hoping! 🤞🏻

[-] Fedizen@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

The new season of "Swamp Creatures" sure seems to be the swampiest yet.

[-] Delusional@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

I mean, it's not like they could ever find anyone worse than trump. I doubt this will hurt Trump's election seeing as how republicans are already fine electing a conman rapist pedophile scumbag.

[-] mohammed_alibi@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

(Pe)nce -> (Va)nce

(Pe)nis -> (Va)gina

Just saying... LOL

[-] Kowowow@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 months ago

knowing how these guys like to act tough and force people to kiss the ring I bet this could just have been trump putting vance into a position where he in no way can talk bad about trump after him being "anti-trump"
