Do people still pretend DDG is somehow more private than the other search engines? It’s not open source and I don’t think they ever got audited either lol. I guess that’s why I only see people talking about it bringing up uncensored results rather than privacy thử days, and even that’s questionable
DDG has censored searches regarding Russia SMO. I personally use their html version (html.duckduckgo.com) since it loads no proprietary code and just gets me search results. Half of which will just be links to forums like stack overflow and reddit.
It's just a front end for Bing. Results are taken from there mainly, and they have a partnership with Microsoft. There was an attempt to exclude microsoft ad tracking id from the 'privacy' filters of DDG.
It's nearly impossible for a small company to have a crawler and store that enormous data.
