It's going to happen. Gun violence in "self defense" has been completely normalized in this country. It's going to be way worse than Kent State by the time this is over.
Just look at how Israel and the US define self defense (or just defense). Defense for Israel is carpet bombing a tiny area packed with 2M people. Defense is starving them. Defense for the US is giving $100B, more or less, to FOREIGN COUNTRIES to help fight proxy wars (Ukraine), fund a genocide (Israel), and agitate another massive nuclear superpower (Taiwan). The US hasn't fought a fucking defensive war since WWII.
They have killed all the old trickster Gods and replaced them with glib Marvel™ Gods that show everything as an evil vs good paradigm, and it really accelerated the ratchet effect of rightward movement and civil unrest.
The trickster gods gave away the game too much. It showed the way that people were being manipulated, and it taught how to manipulate others. Now it's mob mentality over random culture war bullshit while people suffer here and abroad under Amerikkkas boot, and we get told we are the extreme ones because we ask for something in return for our tax dollars, like healthcare or a say in foreign policy. Hell, we can't even protest anymore
