I'm mostly just laughing at the notion of "being obligated by the government to show up on time to dinner" as some death knell to American freedom to leave other people waiting.

You left out the part about how they're executed. President Xi sends them to Glorious Leader Kim, who makes them stand on the train tracks to wait for when all the slaves pull the train over them because they haven't invented coal yet.
