Additional to original question what app do you use for rss? I used to use feedly, but would like something more FOSS.
If you’re on iOS, NetNewsWire is absolutely amazing. It’s very native, fast and FOSS!
I don't know if it is FOSS, but many people recommend Feeder.
+1 for feeder. A really nice feature it has it it's reader mode. Basically fetches the webpage for you and strips it down to pure html and gives a pleasant reading experience without any javascript stuff, because we know everyone loveees auto playing videos that scrolls with the page. Kind of like a reader mode in a browser, but within the app itself.

I wonder why Feedly hasn't added that amazing feature, for me that alone made me switch right away.
