To go where? ๐คจ
And I always wonder, will they do their breakfast, or wash the floor, or wipe their asses all by them self or they think they'll be able to exploit people once civilisation collapsed and they don't have a system to protect them ?
They say their staff is going to wear suicide collars. Not joking.
Will they at least be allowed to return to New Vegas if they figure out how to complete the DLC?
Well that's just the plot of Horizon!
Fuck Ted Faro.
Mostly New Zealand afaik
Definitely the latter. And the worst thing is that they'll probably be right for at least a few decades, with how deeply ingrained unjust hierarchies are in the psyches of normal people ๐ฎโ๐จ
Argentina is the new popular one. Thiel's big compound got turned down by NZ, he has stuff out there but not the compound he wanted, last I heard.
Now he's building something in Argentina.
Traditional hiding place for those of a certain stripe
So that's why it's removed from all the maps! They think we won't find them...
It's pretty dark actually. Some are thinking of outfitting their employees with shock/death collars they can control remotely, drones, all sorts of stuff like that. There was a guardian article about it a few years ago.
I think this is it: https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2018/jul/23/tech-industry-wealth-futurism-transhumanism-singularity
There is a podcast with the Daily Shows Jon Stewart where he says this as well. He was at a dinner party and rich people were talking about how to control populations after monetary means are gone.
will the person responsable of the maintenance be wearing one as well? Well... i guess with ICE and all the techbros licking trump and elon asses they would in fact find people to treat others like animal while staying themselves loyals just because something
These tech lords are going to discover they aren't as tough as they think if things really fall apart.
Even before the militaries take control, an inevitability in that situation, local warlords, often security services out of work or not being paid, would take them out.
Best guess on where theyโll go is probably somewhere remote like a cabin in Montana or Tennessee or something. So if this triggers and show a bunch going to small airports then that might be a better indicator. Also, they all compete with each other so it might not be a homogeneous movement. Thereโs probably not a sense of community with them when it comes to survival or helping each other out.
To your second point. I think most of them would think having a few close employees would be enough to do things for them. A few house maids and a few security staff they can boss around.
