Arx Fatalis with the stealth and lighting of The Dark Mod, modern graphics fidelity with physics-based rendering, and the areas of the different races are believably expansive (so I can somewhat believe that they might actually work). I also want moar physics, crafting, and magic because these systems were genuinely great implementations rarely seen in other games.
Arx Fatalis is a great game. But a bigger team with a higher budget could just have made more game with a bigger world but the same content density. And it's an old game from before physics based rendering was common.
They did impressive detail work back then. Today, they wouldn't be limited by the hardware. If it's still an underground stack of colonies organized in layers like they did back then for performance reasons, there would basically be no performance constraints today. The loading screens between levels would be gone. I could actually take the stairs.
