I am convinced the CCP is financially involved, especially since the film is grossing hundreds of millions in China.

Nothing "trust me" about it, the CCP control all media into the state. It wouldn't get that sort of money unless they planned it in advance. At this point its less doing business and more of a bribe.

They're allowing it yeah. But Hollywood doesn't need help with a obviously popular Spider-Man movie sequel. If you're talking a shitty great wall movie with Hollywood actor that's different.
