Mint is easy to care for and repels some pests but spreads very aggressively. Plant it in some box or container you are okay with being taken over.

Probably also worth knowing that spearmint and peppermint are different flavors that come from different varieties. Not everybody likes both

Well I have it planted myself so I agree. I think it's just bad manners to not warn someone about an aggressive spreading plant when recommending they plant it

And cut off any flowers before they bloom, otherwise even if in a box it’ll spread.

Yes. The flowers drop seeds that could spread in places you didn’t intend.
