Funnily enough, the twist in The Village didn't work on me - for some reason, the situation as it was is exactly what my mind had assumed was the case, so when it was revealed it didn't actually register as "the twist" and for the entirety of the movie, I I kept expecting something else to be the twist. It wasn't until after the movie was over, and it was discussed with family, that I realized that the "discovery" wasn't what everyone else had automatically assumed to be the case by default, and so everyone else in attendance had been shocked by the information.
Smart money's on many of those people also being the sort to ask ridiculous like: "Who's that?", "What's going on?", "Why are they doing <insert recently described motive> right now/like that?", etc. during the fucking movie
...usually, just as the film answers them for you. ๐คฌ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
