"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

Crazy, I opened 5 and I have 28,4 Pounds of gold

You and I both know that comma placement means you have 12,8 Kg of gold, thank you very much.

It's not decimal, it's the thousands separator. They have 12800Kg

That's wrong for either method of decimal/separator mark. None of them omit zeroes without otherwise notating quantity, e.g., 12,8K or 12.8K for twelve thousand eight hundred. Here's an article about it.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decimal_separator

Most countries that use periods as thousands separators and commas as decimal marks use the metric system, hence my teasing them.

Edit: not to add, by your logic my response, 12,8KG, would have been correct anyhow. Are you taking the piss?

No, I'm dead serious. 5 of those small tiny boxes have more than 12 metric tones of gold on them. How can you doubt that?

/s, seems needed to clarify.
