It's like a Tolkien-wannabe imagined a bigoted, food-and-sex-based caste system. Just look at the sheer amount of implied lore. It is kinda weird that it ends so abruptly at cokroaches and rats. I would have loved to hear their take on eukaryiotes and prokaryotes. Let's take this down to the origin of all life. What do I have to do as a human to become a bacterium in the next life? How can I be a good bacterium to make sure my soul doesn't dissipate? What if I want to climb back up the hierarchy and take the slip'n slide all the way down again? Do I only get so many rides or is it just limited to however long there's life in the universe?
didn't you read 3rd step? Spirit can't return, Spirit disintegrates!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but IIRC in Hinduism, that's exactly the reason you don't want bad karma, since it's effectively impossible to do enough good as a bug or bacterium to move back "up". Keeping you trapped in samsara
