Nah, ordered by a physician. I did not even bring up the idea.
If you're unsure, definitely ask for a second opinion from someone else. If you trust your physician it shouldn't be a thing, they do take an oath. Sure there's bad apples but it should come down to how they treat you. If they treat you like a broken tool that needs to be fixed, that's actually the best thing. They are just humans and fixing people is their job.
Well it's funny because they are the second opinion I was referred to. Had an odd result to something so I wanted to make sure it was fine. The second opinion also said it was fine which made me relieved, but then they asked if I wanted an MRI. At first I was like well ok sure I met my deductible but now I'm like wtf am I even thinking.
MRI is just boring and loud. If they suggested it, it won't be too intrusive.
I've had two in research for brain injury. I found the hardest part was being cold and trying to stay awake during the process
If it won't cost you anything but your time and is going to give you peace of mind then it seems like a no brainer to me. MRIs don't use radiation so it's not like you have to worry about getting "too many" in your life, although even with CTs and X-rays I personally don't worry about my exposure because I've only had a few and it's so low risk compared to everything else in life that wants to kill me or make me sick.
Well it's funny because it will cost me, but I'm in an unusual position for me where it would be essentially heavily discounted lol. I can't see that happening anywhere again in the near future. So it was part of my reasoning for considering it. I have an incredibly high deductible plan which I never meet. Before my deductible, I pay 100% the cost of medical care. After my deductible, I pay 20%.
