I know Hollywood is its own thing, but it's so strange to see a movie advertising Depp in it. He seems impossible to work with and after the whole trial I can't imagine it being great for audience good will. Is there really no other actor they could have gone with?

That's not at all the impression I got from the trial.
He seemed more or less exonerated of every accusation. It proved she outright lied about or exaggerated everything. They certainly had a toxic relationship, largely fueled by her issues. He didn't always handle it well, but she seemed the primary instigator in virtually every altercation.

That’s the US trial. A previous UK trial found that a newspaper labelling him a “wife-beater” was not libellous as claims of domestic abuse were “substantially true”

Both of them seem a fuck short, regardless of which trial you followed. I think they’re best apart.

I cant really remember it, seems like they were toxic but looking past him having very clear substance abuse issues and anger issues is difficult. He just did a better job of painting his issues as her fault.

Realistically though it could be either, being with someone like him could make you act out and being the top of the crazy/hot scale is very common in celebrities. Azaelia Banks.
