Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Hey how about you stop blaming people and actually try and fix the problem jackass.

[–] DokPsy@lemmy.world 30 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I was just thinking in a sane world, that headline would have ended "and the governmental organizations are working with local groups and leading experts on preventing the spread"

[–] Auli@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 days ago

They where preventing the spread but decided not to. What else do you expect from antivaxers. Don't see the benifet cause they have never seen the harm.

Yeah but that's not engagement maxxing. He's gonna stretch this out for the ratings. One article isn't enough gotta slap the citizens with a cliff hanger, and the next article would say "the republicans offer humanitarian efforts to thwart sleepy Joe fumble when screworm with this one simple concept" Few months later the last article comes out about the screworm it was then screwing the citizens in some way and suddenly believes in socialism to bail out the Epstein class with our tax dollars or some useless but smart sounding to their supporters with something they will just eat up:

"THE VERY AWAKE, NOST VENERABLE, GREATEST EVER, AND BIGGEST INTELLIGENCE PRESIDENT SINGLE-HANDEDLY ACHIEVES WORLD SAVING BREAKTHROUGH WHILE PERFORMING ADVANCED MENTAL COMPUTATIONS WITH HIS EYES CLOSED LIKE RUSSEL CROWE IN 'A BEAUTIFUL MIND' HE WAS NOT SLEEPING: BURSTING BOTANICAL FEROMONE BARRIERS USING IVERMECTIN BOOSTED SOUND WAVES BY FLICKING IVERMECTIN DUST OFF THE STRINGS OF KID ROCK'S GUITAR STRINGS ON AN AIRPLANE RIDE TO ALL ~~MY GOLF COURSES~~ CRITICAL LOCATIONS ACROSS THE INFECTED AREAS TO HALT SCREWWORM SPREAD IN SOUTHERN PASTURES. Eco-Group RedHats deploys 'Acoustic-Mimicry Moss' to disrupt larvae migratory patterns naturally using distasteful washed up bigot rock artist's guitar strings atomizing the ivermectin so when the worms breathe they breathe in this nano ivermectin powder harnesses the power of our prayers to destroy the illegal invader worms that sleepy Joe Biden and Barrack Hussain Obama didn't stop the worms between the years of 2017-2021..."

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 3 points 3 days ago

he prefers the more elegant ones, the ones that burrows into your brain.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

But if they fix the problem then what will they have left to blame on Biden?

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Oh don't worry about that, they'll always think of something.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Oh yeah, you're right. I mean it's not like it's one of their favorite talking points, like border control, to the point where republicans would deliberately torpedo bipartisan legislation that they had helped to draft, during Biden's presidency, specifically because trump told them to block it, because he didn't want Biden to have a border win...

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 1 points 15 hours ago

For Republicans it's not how many times they can shoot themselves in the foot, but how many of their enemies they can hit with collateral damage in the process.
