Sparta was actually the least oppressive polis for women. Which is an extremely low bar, admittedly.
for a small group of very rich women, through a quirk of their laws, which, because their politics were essentially paralyzed, they never managed to rectify (there were attempts).
i dont think the rest of the women had it that good. and the rest tracks, the men barely knowing their wives and living together in barracks all their lives. and the extreme violence.
Yes, but the rest of Greek cities managed to be even worse in that regard.
